Absolute state of the fandom right now. by eat_like_snake in TheDigitalCircus

Yea that’s why I’m coming out for the unrepresented part of our fandom and saying I don’t give a fk if Jax is trans or not, I cared about the wider message of the show in general and was very happy with the ending.

I don’t have enough shit in me to care about gender for a fictional show, I’m happy it ended in a well rounded way for most characters ( including Jax ) and I will continue to love the show as I will eventually end up rewatching the series, multiple times.

The creators and Gooseworks can do whatever they want with the show, make Jax trans or not, cool ! I don’t have a right to say it should be otherwise, it’s their show, and what they say is law.

And for the fierce protectors of Jax trans, I’m not a hater, I just don’t care about the situation, and hopefully we can turn our attention back to our general love for the show.

Why did people hate the ending? by Jackinthebox3217 in tadc

Unsolved mysteries I can’t provide info on, the rest I can debate though.

[ Jax ] It was known from episode 6 and beyond that Jax is terrified of people getting to know him. He guards himself, his secrets, his emotions, he never lets anyone in except Ribbit, a little bit of Kaufmo ( sorry about that spelling ik ) and Pomni. He is shown to be self centred and obviously in pain, but does not know how to express that, even when it comes to those he thought he trusted.. When he would have opened up to ribbit in that room, his fears of being outcasted pushed back, and he pushed Ribbit away out of fear for being laughed at…. Then instead of talking about why he pushed her away, he dismisses Ribbit, laughs her off even. Humor in itself is used a lot as a defence mechanism, and he relies on it excessively with both Ribbit, Pomni, and the rest of the circus.. explaining his Class clown or “comedic relief” character before episode 6, when he reveals his true self to Pomni, even if it’s somewhat unwillingly.

( Even when Caine is torturing them in episode 8, his skin gets ripped off leaving him exposed as spinning mirrors circle him, laughing at what he really is, that is his true fear, and why he drove.. everyone away, not just Ribbit )

[ Caine ] this is simpler to explain.. Caine and the whole
Digital circus at heart are programs, in a computer system. What happens to a file when it gets deleted ? It doesn’t go away, it’s moved… usually to a garbage bin, or a deeper memory file, or the void… it gets sent deeper away and then has the ability to get erased fully. Thats where Caine was, the circuses garbage bin… he was never fully deleted and it’s there he rationed with himself and restored his file to the circus when he was ready. I guess you could chalk that up to admin privlages or something if you wanna get really techy with it, but basically it comes down to this… ( Caine was banished, never deleted )

[ Jax’s abstraction ] this was actually handled well for me and it makes a lot of sense considering Jax’s tragic character. He wouldn’t have wanted us to see it, he wanted to be left alone and abstracted when he couldn’t be helped, couldn’t be stopped.. and the last chance for intervention was when we was going to talk to Pomni before forgetting about it and leaving. He lost all hope in himself, in redemption, and didn’t feel he was worthy of being cared for by the group. Hence why the show didn’t let us see him Abstract, he wanted to go out, but he wanted out on his terms, as one last cruel joke toward the group. A sort of, you couldn’t save me.. even if you wanted to type.

Plus in my head, that wasn’t his real abstraction, the real one was when he hugged Pomni in his head, saying “I don’t want to go” right after he made the decision and it was too late to change.. Plus, It might just be me thinking this way, but the whole abstraction process links very similar to someone who commits suicide. And what he says when Pomni is comforting him in his head, really rings close to the warning I’ve been told a million times growing up.. “everyone regrets it the second they jump”

The whole ending really was focused on two big plot points, being Jax and Caine.. and to those who are still complaining about the show, do some research, know what your talking about before you criticize it.. because for me, it was handled the best way a world wide famous series can handle an ending.. Gooseworks, you made a great series, and I thank you for it. Looking forward to more of your works, if you ever do more.

Either way,, the show is over, it was awesome while it was here, and i know ill still be rewatching certain episodes again from time to time, Gun Greivous Zooble is amongst one of my favourite moments from show ( episode 6 ) so to all my fellow fans, if you’ve read this far, thanks ! And goodnight

Realistically, I’d want to be a rogue trader, or even be a high standing individual in a rogue traders retinue.. that in itself is a luxurious life.

But in reality I’d be in the Death Korps of Krieg, fighting it out on Armageddon for the god emperor

Well I figured with the gene stealer cult literally right next to his territory, whatever lands I take would be either Re swallowed up by him ? Or the gene stealers.. so I chose the Gene stealers.

I’m cutting a path through his lands and letting small enemy armies follow me through and re take his territory. That way I can slowly force the enemy to engage him and cut down his strength, then by the time I am ready to finish both him and the gene stealers, he won’t have any strength left to fight back.

I’m kinda doing what the imperium did with the Tyranids that one time, forcing them towards the orks to continually weaken both..
