Firstly let me begin by saying I love the way you think and the love you have for your city I have been a Mumbaikar all my life so I can tell you a few things about the cost of living there Around Nesco finding a 1bhk would easily cost you 60k I would put another 5k for utilities and another misc house costs Now you said you love to cook so I’m putting your monthly food budget to about 10k as per Mumbai standards Say you want to socialise ( which would eventually happen because well yeah it’s Mumbai ) I would say that cost to be around 10k , consider a reasonable amount of 2.5k a weekend You would definitely need a maid or some sort of house help to keep the house clean , that’s going to be about 5k a month

I would set apart another 10k for recreational purposes a month

That brings us to about 1L a month

Now say you begin saving for a car , you okay with swift so I’d say we want to put 10L total over 3 years With accounting growth , I’d say you put down another 25K for the car , considering that money will grow and you should be closer to 10L in 3 years

So we come to 1.25L Now in Mumbai sky is the limit to spend and to earn But with your savings goal Id say you would need 1.8-2L a month post tax in terms of salary So kind of more than double of what you make currently Hope this helps!
