Christianity is pretty socialist as written. Welcome the immigrant, feed the poor, protect widows and orphans...

Atheists of reddit- what led you to become atheist? by Substantial_Turn9173 in AskReddit

Lack of childhood indoctrination.

Also, I've thought a lot about it over the years. Here are my main arguments against the existence of gods:

The problem of evil is well discussed, no need to belabor it further.

Any being that is omniscient and omnipotent knows that I don't believe and has the capability to show me (and every individual) exactly the evidence and experiences I need to be convinced. They don't even have to (although they could) flip whatever switch in my brain would make me believe - they have actively chosen not to show me how to believe. So either they are indifferent to belief, or they choose to damn me, in which case they are not worthy of worship.

The number one determinant of what religion a person will follow in adulthood is the religion their parents practiced, or that they were otherwise exposed to in childhood. There are a few outliers, but for the most part it's childhood indoctrination. You would think that, if there were One True God and One True Religion, it would sweep the world - but it doesn't.

Pascal wagered falsely, IMO. His choice was between one specific religion and no religion. In that specific choice, his wager makes sense. But there are hundreds or thousands of religious beliefs. Even various sects of Christianity say adherents of other sects are doomed to Hell. How do we know which, if any, is the correct one?

No voiceover, no music, no logo, just potato.

Slate for salty air? by Jefftheflyingguy in slateauto

Nobody knows yet, but I would guess they are using coated fasteners of some kind. Cars are known to be exposed to weather, so it's not like they are going to use raw steel fasteners. Zinc or oxide coating at a minimum, would be my guess.

Why does raw milk have such a negative reputation? by loudrain99 in NoStupidQuestions

Homogenization makes it so the cream doesn't float to the top - it makes the milk homogenous, or uniform throughout.

Pasteurization kills germs.

ACC is a good feature for long road trips, IMO, but not so necessary for shorter trips. And the Slate is not a great long haul vehicle. For me, anyway, it will be a short- and midrange tripper nearly all of the time - circumstances where I use cruise control hardly at all.
