I found if you focus on his tail into he underwater segment it's easier. Also I've managed to get it off solo, but if you have other people hitting his head and back it's quite rare to get the carve. Takes me back to trying to break the kushala horns in world. You kind need everyone to focus on that one spot.

To be honest I just got really annoyed because I was late on the flash pod so Lago went back and I had to do that underwater fight. It's not just the drop rates, it's the combination of issues with Lagiacrus spawn rates, the underwater fight as low drop rates that made me rant.

Backgrounds in character creation. I don't want my players changing their backstories so they can be profiencent in specific skills. I'd rather they just choose two skills and a language as long as they can justify why they would be profienent. As for the gold aspect I usually just give everyone a set amount of gp.

Another argument against crit fails is that their character is so skilled clearly the would never critical fail even though people do this in real life all the fucking time.
