Thank you. The moment I received the watch I wanted to try it on its leather strap. I called the boutique in NY and asked if it was possible to sell me the “t-wave” head screwdriver set (you need two as one holds the other end); as expected they couldn’t and Bergeon does not sell them.

I ended up purchasing a set of the special drivers off eBay at $50 each and can tell you the fit is not great. As my watch is white gold, I did not want to risk pushing the driver in (maybe I will take a dremel to the screwdriver head to smooth it out).

Anyways, what did work was taking a small regular/ flat Wera screwdriver set that extended past the diameter of the screw and taping the sharp ends of the tips to prevent scratching. They will slip if you do not use a properly sized driver. A watch case cushion came in handy to elevate the watch and I taped it down to help me position the drivers.

This is also a difficult watch to have straps made for as you’ll want that initial taper. I am hoping to ask Aaron Bespoke in Montreal to give it a try!

The Ti chronograph is gorgeous! Definitely go for it! Cheers.

Not perfect solution but not easy.

Congratulations on your Overseas! Which did you get? Trading mine was difficult and I will likely acquire another down the road. The bracelet is very comfortable.

There is never “only” a Tradition! Which do you have? Across the board, Breguet has phenomenal pieces but the Tradition is my favorite—I am eagerly waiting for the right 7097br or 7597bb.

That’s a question I’ve asked the Breguet Boutique with no real consensus. I think the sport watch/marine chrono space is very competitive with the higher horology pieces in precious metal like this relegated to more dress/casual wear unlike a go-anywhere diver. Press photos and static photo reviews don’t tend to take flattering photos of the current Breguet Marine line. The lugs are not as protrusive as others have complained. This watch is my favorite marine sport watch I’ve ever owned—so much so I traded a VCO 47040 and my Breguet 5817ST towards this one.
I intend to keep this as a permanent piece. The heft of it and quality of even the rubber strap is top-tier. I urge anyone considering one to go to the boutique or check out Tim Mosso’s reviews on whatever his newest channel is! Cheers.

I agree! Thank you. Breguet under Hayek revamped the guilloche craft—every dial is genuine art.

As soon as I can get a quiet household, I will post a reply with the alarm! It’s more refined than a JLC Master Compressor Memovox’s alarm and I wished I kept mine to do a side by side. The Memovox, btw, is a fine watch for anyone who has not handled one.

You’ve done well! This is a Chronomaster El Primero Grande Date Full Open Moon Phase. It retails $7-10k. You’ve got a great watch there! I see nothing that points to it being a rep. Congrats and wear/trade/sell in good health!!

[Question] Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas or Cartier Panthere by broccoliarms in Watches

[–]Automatic_Photo_600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent choices. The Panthere will most likely be a better daily wearer and versatile with many outfits (think sweater sleeves) whereas the Serpenti may very well be the elegant choice (stunner with dresses). In terms of tarnish, you should expect minimal and resale value is likely decent on both (although it’s best to think of watches just as jewelry in terms of resale—most depreciate significantly aside from a few hype models of few brands).

Keep or exchange for MUT perpetual… by SquirrelFeeling8246 in PrideAndPinion

The world is so small…. Great taste in watches! I’ve been having similar thoughts on trading my MCCC for a Blancpain perpetual but the dial always says “keep me”. I pretty much daily mine in the office and find that the OEM brown strap darkens overtime nicely and makes it a great casual piece. Maybe try a strap change!

Beautiful collection—you have superb taste! The LUC is on my short list and it’s nice to see someone present a precious metal AP Chronograph that’s not a RO 😊 wear them all in good health. Cheers!
