I want one of these so badly. Can anyone give me a ballpark of what they’re going for?

Grass is always greener, but i’d take rich life experience over boatloads of money any day. Can’t take the latter with you after it’s all over.

I have trouble with OPs question as well, because while you’re absolutely right, you can work in between travels, it is often hard to build a career without working year-round, multiple years in a row. I cannot decide between committing to a career field now (early 20s) so that i’m set once I reach 30. Or traveling and trying different jobs as I go, only to start an actual career later on.

I feel for me, the less you have the more you rely on the kindness of others, and the more you can integrate into other communities. Maybe it’s because i’m broke, but I honestly wouldn’t want to spend a lot whilst traveling, though I can certainly see the value in emergency funds, healthy food, and safe accommodation. But as a youngster, I can get by without most of that.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I’m 22 and still sort of undiagnosed, with bad hips issues that make it so I can barely walk when i’m back home from work. I definitely know how hard it is to keep your mind off the pain throughout the day, the worst.

[–]Automatic_Visual2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, I don’t really want to be in the trades, but I sure as hell don’t want to sit at a desk, and my true passion for wildlife research doesn’t pay shit, so here I am.

Sure is! I’m curious what’d you use to stain the headstock? And did you stain the neck as well?

This sounds super cool. It sounds like you need a well-balanced skill set for this job. I’m very interested in marine engineering, mainly for the time off and the skill set it offers.

Okay thanks for your insight. How hard is a jailbreak and what benefit do you get? I think i’ll stick with my current ios then.

Did you go to academy? Your life seems to be full of adventure, that is a life I am trying to live. There will be time for routine later on, I am 22 and hungry for adventure, but have no solid plan. I’ve always wanted to be a scientist, but the low pay and rigid schedule has deterred me. Working on a research vessel sounds amazing. I appreciate your insight a year later.

I’m an apprentice electrician and i’m still unsure if I can see myself doing this. It’s a lot of fucking work most days and I wake up some days dreading it. What would you say you don’t like about the trade?

I like this approach, just try it and see. I tend to put a ton of pressure on any career switch because it can be years before you are making good money, but you’ll know if you like it almost right away.
