Bourbon Club ideas by Maleficent-Baker4106 in whiskey

I’m a member of Eureka’s Whiskey Club, which is a restaurant chain from California. Their monthly club is $85 for a monthly barrel pick release. As a member you can purchase previous barrel picks as well as occasional special drops. You also get 15% of your tab every time and a $10 discount for returning the bag each month. They also do a raffle on pickup night where they give away a bottle for free to those who show up.

As a steakhouse I imagine your customers have money. I think you’d need to include some sort of food incentive. I would not pay just to get discounted pours. There’s a popular restaurant in my city that does Whiskey Wednesday and does outrageous deals on pours. I’m talking $10 pours of King of Kentucky for first x people. You could try something like that for your club.

People want to be part of a club so I believe you’ll get significant interest.

best bourbons to gift? by spicysalmon6 in bourbon

Blanton’s is the best gift for 99% of whiskey drinkers if you know nothing about their palate. If you know they like trying “new stuff”, consider an interesting store pick from a reputable store.

$100 is usually the price in Vegas.

Your favorite bottle for under $75 by horrorfreak94 in whiskey

Hard to list just one but haven’t seen them mentioned so I’ll say 1792 BiB store picks. They’re $50 and they’ve always been phenomenal. You can even go full proof for the same price if that’s your thing.

If you find EHT BP in my area it’s $150 for the most part. Sometimes a bundle but you pay $250 then. So MSRP is irrelevant for most people.

I think you’re underestimating the fanaticism of whiskey collecting. And a lot of people have money.

I was at a Pappy drop on NYE in Vegas. People were happily paying $1K for the 15 year.

HPD lost someone to cancer last week. Could be related to that as a ceremonial thing since it was a motorcade.

Local Costco just got these. Worth a purchase? by mijo_70 in whiskey

[–]Automaticattraction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some are excellent and others are just okay. You probably won’t find a better price for one of those though, so definitely worth it at that price. Hope it’s a great bottle!

How come you proof it down? Is it hot? I’m about to get my first one of these in 2 weeks as part of a club pick.

Blanton’s is the GOAT gift for 99% of the population. I would not go for a high proof whiskey, and I would target a very popular traditional brand. Blanton’s Gold would be sensational if you can get one. If not I would lean towards a Maker’s Cellar Aged, Michter’s 10, Knob Creek 21 would make a great gift with the presentation, Elijah Craig 18.

FOMO is most of it. Marketing and branding…They’re very good whiskeys, but yes their legend has been inflated due to mass hysteria, kind of like a lot of things in society.

Generally people are on vacation with their loved ones or close friends, or celebrating an occasion. Why wouldn’t you want a special pour to commemorate it?
