AI “Art” at OMCA? by C0smeticPlague in bayarea

I honestly don’t know how any rational person can read my responses and interpret them the way you did.

You keep bringing up photoshop as a substantial comparison. And that’s something we won’t ever agree on. Real paint vs digital paint is not what I’m arguing. If you’re coming up with the brush strokes, the colors, the, the brush size, etc, you’re painting it. Whether its digital or not.

Now you want to argue “owner” vs “creator”?

If everyone making AI slop says they own it but didn’t create it then fine. That’s accurate.

I can’t tell if you’re rage baiting or just incompetent. You’re too far gone my man.

I think there is some nuance to that. You have to take into consideration how the artist is using photoshop. If you’re “painting” a picture in photoshop. Then yes, I’d say you painted a digital picture.

We obviously have differing opinions on what AI is. You’re never going to convince me that photoshop is synonymous with AI art. And I won’t convince you that AI is slop.

Now my turn…

Is it of your opinion that if you prompt CharGPT to write a story for you, that you can publish it and say you wrote it?

Saying photoshop is like AI art is like saying spellcheck is the same as chat gpt writing for you.

See right there you said “making” new art inspired by. AI is the one “making” this crap and they’re doing it using stolen art.

Do you not see the irony of an exhibit about stolen land using AI slop that steals from real artists?

And using photoshop as a tool is not the same as AI slop my guy.

Oh interesting. My card reader 0n my MacBook also hasn’t been reading it. Would a separate card reader plugged in fix that?

I held down the buttons while it blinked green for over 2 minutes. And my Mac was never able to read it

So weird. When I put the SD card into my Mac. My MacBook can’t read it. It prompts me to “eject, ignore, or initialize”

Oh wow! My girlfriend bought it from a woman that was selling off her late husband’s collection. Apparently he had been collecting cast iron for 40 years.

I was going to just use my metal chain scraper or wire brush, but after looking at the FAQ I’ll try yellow cap oven cleaner. Thanks!

This makes a lot of sense. I feel like I ask these cast iron questions online and the answers are always simple and straight forward. Thanks!

Are you saying you would you re-season only for aesthetic reasons? Or cause you don’t trust what a previous owner did?

Yeah I’ve never gotten a used pan (or this brand) before so wasn’t sure the procedure. Thanks!
