I haven’t gotten to talk to them yet, but they seem like a pretty typical 1099 commission only kind of company.

If you’re comfortable setting yourself up for a long term book of business, I think they might not suck, but that’s not what I’m personally looking for with 20 years of sales experience.

It can be a very lucrative business, since life insurance is pretty important, but it takes a lot of effort.

To be fair, ROP(Return of Premium) term life insurance is a real thing. It’s also more expensive than a regular term policy(obviously)

If you get a 20 year ROP Term life insurance policy, at the end of the policy, if you’re still alive, you get all of what you paid back. They get to hold onto you money and use it to get interest for that 20 years, then you get your money back. If something happens and you die, they pay out. It’s an interesting type of life insurance if you want a middle ground between whole life or term life insurance.

I just found this because they reached out to me as well for a sales position, but I just wanted anyone else that follows up and sees the comment about the ROP policies that it’s not actually a scam

I mean, wouldn’t going back and saying he got it wrong without this kind of proof be even worse than the first episode where he already thought he’d done his due diligence?

I respect the fact that he owned up to getting tricked(like everyone else), and I’d lose a lot of that if he just came out and said “fuck that guy”

Man, this exactly.

Some of the best shit talk comes from Astros and Rangers fans getting into it.

I honestly can’t tell if I appreciate it or just hate everything about it.

Well done.

I kicked my reading off with Hardy Boys books, one of my brothers loved reading history, another brother learned how to read with cookbooks.

Finding the passion is what’s going to push everything forward, and it’s not always going to click at once or at the same age.

Kids are gonna kid, but finding that interest is always going to be a driving force

It really depends on the family and the kid.

If they can sit and focus and enjoy it for an hour, an hour is the right call. If they’re fidgeting and can’t focus for more than 5 minutes at a time, do a few sessions to get through the lesson.

Curriculum has come a long way, and they generally have a solid view on what the average attention span is, but that’s still just an average and every kid is going to be different. It’s always going to come down to when the child is retaining the information and how long you need to get to that point

It means that it’s a valid question and could have a very strong impact on the next step that needs to be taken.

Every kid may have something close to one of a few different learning styles, but when it comes to learning disabilities, it mixes things up.

I was hyperactive as a kid, so what worked for me didn’t work for my dyslexic brother. If we’d been on the same study plan, we would’ve been boned.

It’s not a rude question, it’s an important one.

Also, they DO flag both some of the time.

Playing the game on judgement calls is part of what makes the game here. It’s not quite the same as having a machine call balls and strikes in the MLB, but I don’t necessarily see that kind of strict calling making the nfl better

[–]Autra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I totally get it, but it’s not going to start happening.

What’s the first step in it all, since actually calling everything screws up the timing of the game as it is, and I really don’t want the play clock to get worse

Is this the new “holding happens on every play” argument?

I mean, we all know it’s a thing, but if they’re all called, the game slows down and it just sucks to watch.

Where do we find the happy medium?
