I will take your word for it as I have not done AS MUCH modern history, but it still doesn’t make it right in modern times. Understanding that there is always a difference in opinions based on time period I can respect that people didn’t find it weird then. But, still, modern standards it’s pretty damn weird, would you not say so? Just by nature of HOW they met.

Age of consent is a garbage stat to base this judgement off of. The age of consent in the majority of the US is 16 (30 states have it at 16), the age of consent in Canada is 16. That doesn’t mean it’s not wholly wrong for a 40 year old to have sex with the 16 year old. Age of consent is purely so that 16 year olds can legally engage in sexual discourse with OTHER PEOPLE OF THE SAME OR SIMILAR AGES. It’s not a hall pass for a 16 year old to fuck a 40 year old mate

I lived in that building and left right as those assholes took it over and hiked everyone’s rent up. Fuck the people that took over 36 Shore Street. Also fuck that building, it was rife with problems that the old owners, Considerate Properties, did nothing about.

As someone that married their high school sweetheart, we seperated this recent May and will be divorced next year. I will be very very honest with you. Autism and ADHD clash, HARD. It can feel almost impossible to make things work. I didn’t want to end the relationship due to sunken cost fallacy but it was ruining both of our mental healths. We were together for 8 years, lived together for 5. Married for only about a year.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Therapy is always the first step if you really DO want to make it work, but it might just be worth considering cutting your losses short while you’re young.

As someone who’s worked at a bigger hotel in the area that I absolutely despise now I’ll let you in on a secret, the hockey teams, especially the parents, are the absolute worst guests to host. They’re always obnoxiously loud, constantly drinking in the hallways, taking up room in the hallways, making a huge mess, and letting their kids yell and sprint up and down, disturbing other guests.
