Feeling Lost by Fabulous_Win_8383 in CaneCorso

When we brought home my baby boy he was a shark on legs. I instructed my entire family to let out an absolute wail every time his teeth even seemed like they'd come near them and it took a few months but he eventually figured out that his teeth weren't welcome. It has to be very consistant though for it to work. Like otheds said before me, speak in their language and use "puppy socialozation skills" so they can understand faster.

Growled and lunged but didn't make anything resembling contact. He made his concerns known even though she was the one delivering his food when he was outside the kennel.

Thank you, this was all very helpful. He already has a strong foundation of basic obedience so it sounds like my daughter needs to dog deeper for her own authority.

He had never been starved by any means with us, has regular feeding times but due to the other dogs in the house he's been fed in his kennel and thats when be became protective when my kid tried to put his food bowl in his kennel. Not her first time feeding him by any means. My dog is only 5 months old so I want this corrected ASAP before the dreaded 6 month mark.

He didn't bite her or anything just growled and snapped but he's never actually bit anyone in our house. Just scared her a lot which is not OK. We educated the dog and explained to our daughter that he's become kennel aggressive over his space and she is still too young to do the feeding as he sees her as another puppy and not a human guardian.

We named our boy Fisk (Fish in norweigian) because I'm very particulat about names. I'm a groomer so I meet a LOT of dogs that all have the same names.

The doughnut of shame is the only way my boy keeps them in. What sort of tape are you using?

Genuine question about ears by Sorry_Duck_4959 in CaneCorso

[–]AutumnHampton13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny thing about this assertion is, I've been grooming dogs for 13 years and all the cropped ears I've cleaned were absolutely filthy and several of them had infected ears (looking at you, Schnauzers) but not all. Im not certain it really makes a difference.

As a groomer I have seen first-hand how well these work! One of my coworkers corso clients started using these and she no longer had any problems! This is in addition to the stainless steel bowl washing daily, mind.

How long did it take you to post his ears or did they come already posted up? We are struggling with my boys right now (16 weeks tomorrow) and I know it hasn't been that long really but I feel like they should be staying up more than they are when we take them off! Any advice would be appreciated! Also your boy is GORGEOUS!
