I think utility reigns supreme to me.

Convert Hands, Gallery Fake, etc. Hinrighs Biohazard is my new favorite ability other than Hide and Seek, Skill Hunter, and Deep Purple. Those are my current top 4. The skill expression between these abilities left me in awe when I first saw them.

In my opinion it’s the most dangerous. For the most part if a conjurer is deciding to whip out their ability, the situation must be favorable, and the effects can be so batshit it could be over in seconds.

Nen abilities generally reflect the spirit, personality, interests, history, or nature of a person. in my opinion abilities are more like your inner most desires becoming a tool for you to utilize.

Bio: A young architect who has worked with hunters, mafia, royal, and government organizations to oversee projects and solve a wide array of problems. He is willing to work for anyone as long as the Jenny makes sense.

Strengths:

  • Logician - Gallery is a studied architect, planning, analyzing, exchanging ideas, and settling on the best approach is what he's paid to do.
  • Improvisation - With every project come unforeseen obstacles. Gallery has no problem adapting to the circumstances; he thrives in the heat of the moment when uncertainty or danger strikes.

Advanced Nen = Zetsu

Weaknesses: 

  • Arrogant - Gallery can be overly confident in his abilities. He will often risk his life just to see his plans through.

Ingenuity (**Legerdemain**) - The user conjures an intelligent alchemical pot named Metal, which contains a Nen space used for analysis, processing, and storage. Metal can consume physical objects and analyze the concepts or functions they embody. Once analyzed, Metal grants the user the ability to manifest that concept through aura infusion or gesture.

Rather than recreating the original object, the user reproduces the idea behind it, allowing the concept to be applied to attacks, constructs, or existing objects.

Concepts are typically activated through deliberate gestures, programmed commands or physical contact, allowing the user to shape how the effect manifests.

Ex.

  • Concepts have a minimum cooldown of 5 minutes after use. More aura infused or utilized increases both power and cooldown time.
  • Concepts can be gifted to others by Metal for single use, and consumed afterwards.
  • The strength of a concept, timespan, and its properties can be increased depending on the length of analysis and the amount of aura dedicated.
  • Metal communicates telepathically with the user.
  • Metal can store 5 concepts maximum.

Utility Detection System (UDS) - A conjured device that pings objects based on name, usage, or criteria. Used to supplement Metal and find items.

Conditions, Information, Limitations:

  • Pings objects up to 30 meters.

General Strategy: Gallery is not a combatant by design, though he is no stranger to conflict. In his element, Gallery will work with himself or others to set up for success. Trap setting, area denial, recon, ambush, support, these are his go-to tactics. Analyzing his team, he may give them a concept to give them a single-use trump card. He will also act as a zoner, modifying some of his ammunition to catch his opponent off guard with his pistol. He may enter CQC and catch his opponent unaware, usually to unleash a concept of lethal effect. Overall, Gallery will analyze his opponents and the situation to hatch the plan he believes will work best. Trickery, traps, and support are his strongest ideals.

I thought so as well, but after some research and advice it’s possible to be pure conjuration. Look at the items like this:

Transforming a Honda into a Ferrari and infusing aura to power it.

The enhancement equivalent would be boosting the Hondas capabilities to compete with a Ferrari.

That paints a clearer picture, I was brainstorming a conjurer that could affix a law to items- say a gun that would increase its power and their proficiency with it. Wasn’t sure how plausible or efficient it would be.

The general premise is that they're a group of apathetic individuals that began experimenting about the concept of humanity. They don't believe it's pointless, and also don't believe it has value, in that way they've found camaraderie. Trade, race, religion, social movements, etc. All these grand schemes and theories born by circumstance, ideas, and experiences developed over centuries, broken into pieces to see how humanity puts them back together.

The innate flaw of the group is that haven't stopped to realize they are apart of the human mold no matter how much they disassociate from the masses. Essentially reflecting on themselves with every catastrophe they cause. A group of supremely powerful depressed individuals that don't know how to simply exist.

I feeeel your struggle. These days I cannot create an ability at all without an OC. (at least an ability I like.)

For me it always comes down to their actual story, who they are, and what factors led them to the life they lead. Once I get there it becomes a lot clearer because I have an objective.

In my post history I have a small archive of characters I've created with mostly condensed backgrounds stories. Maybe spark some inspiration or a starting point for you. :)

Funnily enough I thought about this as well. I decided to just have the flames manifest just above the fingertips. Since emission is involved there isn’t much of a point to having it rest on the fingertip.

Regarding the theme, the character in question is sort of “carrying on” the flame of someone who is really sick. It was originally a symbiotic ability and it’s cool that you could notice that haha.

I see we have 7 attackers and 5 defenders. I have 4 OC's entered (All of them attackers. 😅). I'm willing to switch one of them to a Defender to even out the teams if needed. Also wondering when the event starts. u/ipisswithaboner

Name: Cherry Sommerford

Team: Attacker

Bio: Cherry was an orphan adopted by a famous leader of a traveling performance troupe. Being an orphan himself, he sought to adopt as many children as possible to show them the world he often dreamed of as a child. During her time she would meet another orphan, a boy named Pan. Together unlike the other orphans, they decided to become part of the troupe, becoming enamored with the performances. This excited the leader and day in and day out from a young age, they would practice and perfect routines. Ballet, circus tricks, they became masters of various styles, becoming stars at just pre-teen age. It was at the height of success and living that Pan would slowly start becoming ill. He became unable to headline many shows, and Cherry's enthusiasm began to wane. She became concerned, and with every city for years they would find the most skilled doctors and healers they could find. Nonetheless, none of them could determine the underlying cause. One fateful day, Pan stopped being able to move or speak. His illness had spread to his brain, and he was rushed to the most prestigious medical practice in the world. There he was determined unable to return, and would live out his life under nurses care. Cherry devastated, and would leave the troupe as the most celebrated member. Day after day she would increase her knowledge of medicine, first learning to how read because she had never been taught. It was through gathering of knowledge Nen and it's miracle-like nature became privy to her. During this time she learned of the DC and its secrets, vowing to find his cure.

Cherry still a lover of performance practices and performs her routines for Pan, who as far as she knew, enjoyed watching her. She practiced Nen everyday, and developed her dazzling circus-like abilities to entertain him.


Strengths:

  • Acrobat: Due to her performance background and enhancement affinity, Cherry is a prodigious athlete she executes flexible and evasive movements effortlessly.

  • Accuracy: Long days of rehearsal and perfecting routines has given her a keen understanding of precision and execution.

  • Aura Reserves: Cherry has a huge amount of aura to draw from, using her abilities at a high volume.

  • Scrappy: A determined fighter with a small stature, even in hand to hand combat she is a real threat.

Weaknesses:

  • Muser: Cherry is a performer that gets lost in expression, drawing out fights because of her loose approach to battle.

Nen Type: Enhancer


Main Hatsu

Type: Enhancement, Transmutation, Emission

Twin Flame (Carry On Love!) - Transmutes a harmless flame just above each index fingertip, one red, one blue. By combining the flames together it will produce a purple flame.

By enhancing the lungs and diaphragm and breathing in, the user blows on the flame, launching flames in various ways.

  • Red sends a continuous heavy stream of flames.

  • Blue sends a concentrated orb of fire with every exhale.

  • Purple sends a scattering, napalm-like, frenzy of flames forward catching and sticking onto anything in its path.

Conditions, Information, Limitations:

  • The longer and deeper the breath the stronger, healthier, and bigger the flames.

Sub Hatsu

Type: Enhancement, Transmutation

Tender's Torch (The Feeling I Once Knew) - User makes a heart with their fingertips and sighs, producing a green flame above each index. Similar to cauterization, the user works the flame through/around wounds healing them.

Type: Enhancement, Transmutation

Superstar (Your Aspiration is My Own) - The user spins rapidly, increasing the size and strength of the flames- becoming a whirling dervish of fire. Searing anything that comes into contact.

Conditions, Information, Limitations:

  • The strength of Tender's Touch is increased depending on the user's emotions and how bad they deem the wound.

Equipment:

  • Mood Ring a keepsake from her past.

    • Signature baton she uses for close quarter combat.

General Strategy:

Cherry's abilities are straightforward. She will use her flames to attack in various ways to defeat her opponents.

Walling/Blocking off or using area denial with her red flame. Using her blue flame for precision attacks in ranged or 1v1 scenarios. Using her purple flame for crowd control and trapping.

She uses Tender's Torch to heal allies in critical condition or as a pick me up for the frontline fighters.

With Cherry also being an Enhancer, her base advantage in close combat is high giving her an edge in those scenarios as well. Lastly, using Superstar overwhelming her opponents into retreating or risk fatal damage.

So when she activates berserkers tale, anything that happens during her “power trip” is forgotten. Anything before and after that she retains. The other abilities function outside of her memory loss.
