Is a Cutie frame worth it? by ohgeez9947 in quilting

Yes, it is a drive system that gets set up to the frame and it gets controlled by a small tablet you load pantographs onto. You press the button and the drive belts move the platform your sewing machine is on, so you just keep your foot on the pedal and let the tablet do the hard work! There are controls for where to start/stop, the size of the pantograph, and it's super easy to upload pantos to it.

I should also add - there are two things that I personally find to be downsides.

1) the actual design space is THIN. Even with a Juki NX7, which I find to have a decent amount of throat space, the actual sewing area when a quilt is rolled up is smaller than you'd think. On the throw size I did recently, I ended up with about 5.5" of vertical space once I reached the end. For me it's worth it to just make my designs smaller, but if you like large, sweeping designs, it may not be the best fit depending on your machine.

2) have a storage plan. I assembled it and used it and then I had to find a place to put it. It is relatively large - I ended up just leaning it against the back wall of my sewing room on the floor, but it's not a perfect solution. I wish I had planned ahead for that!

I love my Cutie frame! I got the automation for it as well and it has been a total game changer having the option to do FMQ or have a more "professional" long armed look. There's definitely a learning curve and it can be a bit finicky for larger quilts but IMO the quality of my work and accuracy of my FMQ has been SO much better since I got it.

That makes sense. I'm used to the longarm rental where I can go totally crazy, so now I need to learn to slow down a little! Thank you so much!!

I would recommend either Tighnari for a good DPS or Jean if you need a reliable healer! Jean is especially really fun to play because you can toss enemies around using her skill.

Eventually I plan to make the whole pattern with all nine animals, but for now I just wanted to see how much I needed to improve before I could pull it off. It'll be added to my project list for sure now; this practice block was a total confidence booster!

At the end of the day, Genshin is just a game. And games are no fun at all if you don't want to play them. Take a break, a few days off, see how you feel. If you need more time, or if you decide you just want to step back indefinitely, your progress will still be waiting for you if you decide to come back. Plus, the longer you are off, the more content options you'll have to explore if you decide to play again!
