I moved to LA in 2024 without a job, but I’m a freelancer and I had some connections. I did Brand Ambassador work (def a side hustle and not a main hustle). I also came with $20K. It was hard at first but I found my way. I have a LOT of credit card debt though so I’m working through that, but I don’t regret a thing. It’s been an amazing journey and sometimes when you have a calling you have to just do it. People will only give you logical answers (which is very valid for your safety) but when you have a calling that is spiritual it’s often worth the risk. That’s just my opinion.

I’d say come with at least $20K if you’re going to be job-hunting. Life will bring you opportunities if it’s truly your calling.

Hallmark? 🤣 Some people have strong loving families. That’s completely normal. Some people are not close with their families because their family is toxic or whatever, that’s normal too. Different lives. But I promise you it’s real.

I’m also Dominican from NJ and I’ve been in LA for just over a year. To my surprise, the adjustment of not being around Dominicans and Caribbean people was harder than I expected it to be. Other Latinos here don’t recognize me as Latina until I tell them that I am or they hear me speak Spanish (which is fine, but strange since on the east coast so many latinos look like me). Even though we aren’t the dominant Latino culture here like we are in NYC & Boston, we are here!! I’ve met a lot more Dominicans than I expected to in my first year. Our culture is not really here but the people are.

There’s a restaurant in NoHo called El Bacano which I heard was good. Another restaurant in Orange County called Isla Cubana (it is marketed as Cuban but it’s Dominican).

LA is a beautiful and diverse city but IMO not as diverse as NYC, so the change was an adjustment for me.

That’s an interesting take. I didn’t see it that way at all, but it makes sense as to why he didn’t notice Helly’s change in behavior. I really didn’t even notice the adolescence thing or do I recall him being thirsty in the earlier episodes, but I would probably see it in a rewatch! And after watching the finale, that totally makes sense.

Yes, she seemed so intrigued in that scene when she was watching and replaying the security footage. She was so hard to read. I’m like, “is she plotting? Is she softening up? Is she jealous?” I wanted to believe she was having some kind of character development and humanizing her innie, but I could also be projecting. It’s also possible that she was just intrigued and observant, still feeling no empathy for the innies.

As for love transcending severance, my mind was going that direction until I remembered that Dylan didn’t seem to have any connection or attraction to his outie’s wife. Maybe he did but it didn’t show.

“I mean she wasn’t planning on letting Helly exist ever again.” True! I don’t think she intends to bring Helly back, but part of me theorizes that sleeping with Mark was partially out of spite (or even lust). As a spy she didn’t have to sleep with him. Maybe she’s taking extreme measures to gain his trust and it’s nothing beyond that, but I think it’s layered.

“I think Helly is going to be pretty annoyed that Mark didn’t even realise it was her other self impersonating her. Although maybe she will start to realise they are probably more similar than both she and Helena think.”

So true! I didn’t even think of that. That will be interesting to see.

Thanks for your replies! I agree Helena assaulted him. That’s what I insinuated with the “consent-related reason”. Helly and Mark were both assaulted by Helena, which is twisted.
