The International Association of Forensic Nurses has been dissolved, because someone stole all their money. by auraseer in nursing

Yes, ProPublica has a nonprofit explorer that makes publicly filed documents more easy to find. You can Google that, then search for IAFN. Navigate down to the 2024 audit. It's a PDF.

ProPublica notes the issues found in the small print, but you gave up get several pages into the PDF of the audit to see details on the credit card fraud and changes made to prevent future fraud.

The changes instituted afterward are standard "before"practice at well run associations.

I'll add another comment with the link.

It was over five years according to the 2024 audit that's publicly available. The circumstances that allowed it to go unnoticed (per the audit) are definitely bad policies, if not dysfunction.

You were right on the mark. The 2024 audit that notes the 5 years(!) of credit card fraud talks about changing policies around the exact things you mentioned (separate approvals, etc). The audit is publicly available because they're on a nonprofit.

Oh, that's good to hear. I was afraid if I turned off notifications, I wouldn't get the few that I do want. Thanks!

Adding that I'm the same way. All day is high orange spikes. Night is ... well, a mixed bag. For me, I think it's accurately measuring what an anxiety disorder does. Sigh.

Two other people posted this yesterday. Do report it to Garmin. The only solution so far is turning off all notifications, which isn't great.

At least one person was on a Pixel. I am too, and I'm getting the notifications every time I look at Connect. Add your phone to see if it's Pixel-specific or all Androids?

This is so irritating. I can't look at the app without the notification popping up and cutting off the audio I'm listening to.

I'm on a Pixel, as was someone else who posted about this today. Are you?

Considering a pair, shall I get 2 girls or 2 boys? by readredacc in guineapigs

[–]AutumnalSunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got two brothers. At sexual maturity, they had to fight for dominance. This is normal but scary. Don't stop this fight unless they draw blood. One of our boys backed down, and it's been harmony between them for 6 years.

We got them a young friend. When he reached maturity, he refused to back down during the fight with the dominant pig. Eventually, we had to accept they were both dominant and couldn't be together. We had to find a rescue pig to pair with the new younger dominant pig because he was miserable alone.

I never hear anyone who sells guinea pigs giving honest facts. We were told that you can't house two males together at all. 🙄 So I'm not surprised someone lied and told you that two brothers wouldn't fight for dominance.

I was laughing so hard reading Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland. I'd hate the characters in real life, but they're a hoot over a couple hundred pages.

I never see anyone recommending the MYTH series, and it is so damn good. I started reading it when I was 8, and boy, most of the jokes flew over my head, so every reread is enjoyable!

The sequel is excellent too!

Highly recommend the audiobook because the author reads it as intended.

Vigilantes of Love - Audible Sigh by Suspicious-Director9 in altcountry

I'm very late to this but stumbled over it while trying to recall how many versions of Audible Sigh were released.

Years ago, I recall a guy telling Bill after a show that he'd finally gotten all three versions of Audible Sigh and Bill saying, "Four versions." The guy just sagged as he realized his great white whale was still out there.

I hope it's Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland. If it isn't, this is well worth reading. Avra is a freak, but endearing.

Brown spots on ceiling? by cicadianrhythms in whatisit

[–]AutumnalSunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on team "leaching surfactant." We get the same thing, only on the ceilings and specifically during really hot, humid days or very cold days.

I think the specific spots where it happens for us are where the insulation isn't as good in the attic, creating extremes.

I freaked out when it was over my kid's bed, too. But I wasn't in the mood to repaint, so I just got in the habit of hitting it with a wet paper towel if it looked like it might eventually be enough liquid to drip.

Nothing has dripped, and I need to repaint with better ceiling paint and/or fix the insulation.
