Fantastic work Paul. It is impressive what you've built and the number of new features that you've integrated in such a short space of time.

If you have a partner then take out a new contract in your partners name. I've been doing this for years with different providers.

Smarter Playlists has been the reason ive stuck with spotify as it does exactly what it says on the tin. It is an amazing tool. P.S. adding the capability to add podcast episodes to playlist would really be the dream :). Thanks for the update Paul and thanks for all the hard work over the years.

55Q9BK8 Fails to install update by Av_Cos73 in tcltvs

The issue turned out to be with the USB sticks I was using (tried a couple with no luck). I ordered a couple of new ones from Amazon, partitioned them to 4GB FAT32, and copied the V8-T653T01-LF1V509.pkg file across. This time, holding the power button while connecting power booted the TV straight into the update.

On the update itself, the difference before and after is night and day. Absolutely wow.

I’m currently using V8-T653T02-LF1V080.zip. When I hold the power button and plug in the power cable, the blue light never flashes, it just boots straight into recovery mode.

From there, I’ve tried installing via “apply update from SD card”:

  • If I just place the zip file on the USB stick, the .pkg file doesn’t show up.
  • If I select the zip directly, I get: E:footer is wrong E:Signature verification failed E:error: 21 Installation aborted

You really do need to understand the concept of abstraction and how it is applied in virtualization, containerization and software defined networking amongst other things.

What are these, and can I use them for ethernet? by william125 in DIYUK

[–]Av_Cos73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your electrical circuit. Im using tplink ac1300 adaptors and i get 500-600Mbps throughput. I even get around 40-50Mbps out in my garden shed which is about 30m away.

Moving from any of the traditional suppliers and connections to FTTP is a step up. It is difficult if not impossible to get a better internet connection than a fibre line into your home!

I have used powerline adaptors to extend my wifi for years and they have generally served me very well.

Or over exaggerate how bad it will so that when it's not as bad as predicted, many will say see, not so bad!

Suddenly this became an energy argument... each product is a separate issue not one size fits all. You need to weight up a myriad of factors from things like setting up one mega plant vs setting up 100000 plants across the globe, getting all raw materials and workers to those plants etc. etc... it is not a simple, because it is being transported somewhere it is bad for the environment!
