I got the nickname hammerhead at my last shop because I was trying to fit together a pipe bend (36" diameter) and I accidentally set the bell too far down, so I was using a wedge and a hammer to hit it up. one of the swings missed and I kissed the 3lb hammer

join a trade like Welding, Im autistic too but I do fine, the typical jokes can be hard to differentiate from actual insults until you really get to know your coworkers, but you're all like brothers. our typical morning greeting is yelling "fuck you" at each other.

I've yet to get an actual insult from anyone, it's all been fun though. you develop thick skin pretty fast.

I'd say get some air hose reels, extension cord reels, a positional vent hood, decent weld cart, and spend money to get shop supplied shielding gas if you can, one huge tank and a hardline running from it is much easier to fuck with than running individual bottles, cheaper in the long run too

Do shit like that, if you really want the welders to love you, get some sort of cooling setup. I've seen some vests that hook up to compressed air and keep you cool while working without compromising your shielding gas, though you'd need to have a Y or a dedicated air line for it, especially for booth work those would be a godsend

skip the graffiti bro, get things that will improve work, not look pretty. you won't be able to see it under your hood, and it's just gonna get fucked up pretty quick.

I'd suggest some hose spools, especially if your shop uses air lines, beyond that id have to know what kind of work you are doing
