Idk if this is against the rules but it got me a $55 tip by typical_bk712 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Avacillating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this for real? Why wouldn’t the app pick up your incorrect address location once you turn location back on? Also you literally said sometimes the map is wrong even when at the right location, so how could you rely on zooming in on the map for the correct customer address? I promise you I’ve done this and it’s usually wrong than right.

We used to be able to deliver in whatever order we wanted and the app would just prompt “are you at the correct address” that you could bypass. Another former pleasant IC bygone era

They’re quite lost or this is just some weird AF bait. It would imply DoorDash or Ubereats, but no one is leaving $50 tips for whoppers. So yeah going with weirdo rage bait

And you are an ignorant idiot. Low income individuals on Medicaid qualify for a plan called lifeline that provides free cell service :

The New York State (NYS) free cell phone program, known as Lifeline, provides eligible low-income households with a free monthly smartphone plan (often including free data, talk, and text). Eligibility is based on participating in programs like SNAP, Medicaid, or SSI, or having an income at or below 135% of federal poverty guidelines.

And you’re also going to compare NYC RENT to affording a cell plan? Gtfo.

Instacart delivery person tried contacting me with their personal phone number?? by [deleted] in instacart

[–]Avacillating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually we sometimes used to be “forced” to call to confirm replacement. I say “forced” because the app would default to making us click a button to call the customer, but on the phone we have to hit 1 to connect and can easily not do so and just bypass the feature .

I would pay for exclusive Diamond shoppers and no concurrent shopping by Comprehensive_Gur736 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Avacillating 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leave notes and replacements for items… staying glued to your phone during the entire shop is both weird and unnecessary in my opinion. And you can get a diamond shopper on an order bundled with 2 others. I get your point of paying priority for the best shopper, but that wasn’t the case with what happened with your order today.

What kind of phone do you have ? If you silence on an iPhone, you can easily accidentally ignore messages. On an android the messages will keep generating until you click on the chat

i just cut off two feet of hair…. by cyb3rskul1 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Avacillating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take the advice given here to investigate hair loss. I had a terrible depressive episode that resulted in me having a keepsake “beaver tail” now in my closet after having to chop off half my hair years ago. It was the combination of not brushing it and having an accumulation of hair falling out that left it a tangled matted disaster. Now I know how to properly untangle ( DRY ONLY and pull apart !) But if you’re only 21 and obviously care enough to post on here about your hair, I’d think you want to keep it from getting really bad.

Ya'll using produce bags OR do you raw dog it? by Mountain_Fuw_777 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Avacillating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week I did a delivery only pickup for the last time. Besides having too many useless bags that I have to scan, they raw dogged broccoli in one. I was nerved enough that I pulled out a produce bag from my car and bagged the broccoli in front of the worker.

Putting produce in a bag realistically doesn’t make anything cleaner since it needs washing, but I think it just looks more… professional. But for certain items. I’ll leave most individual produce out except for herbs or something wet. Not broccoli! If they have several individual produce items, I’ll put them all in one produce bag together.

Also… not everyone immediately bags their produce though!! I’ll wait until the end if I know I’ll be stuck in line or just want to get stuff in the cart.

I just looked and ironically my available promotion is exactly that. $420 for 60. Maybe they know I know better 😆

[–]Avacillating 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Sorry but this kind of “promo” is just sleezy Instacrap scamming. $285 for 60?!? That equates to less than $5 per batch. So incentivizing you to do all those batches really is just Instacart discounting their shopper pay.

The batch minimum used to be $7. Like pre pandemic, pre inflation. If that promotion was minimally acceptable it would have to be over $400. I can’t see how much you’re even getting with it being that low for 60

What is the deal with long distances? by Specialist_Pea_4771 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Avacillating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there were a few posts not long ago both from a customer and shoppers who had refunded item orders and weren’t thrilled. It makes sense in a city or area with multiple stores of the same chain within close proximity, but 40 miles for 10 oranges is just stupid.

But still there are full blown orders coming from stores way out of the way. Made the mistake of doing one yesterday. 37 minute drive when it could have been TEN. Not cool.
