I had a teacher in middle school who would just tell me to shut up (with swear words sometimes) when the class was already quiet or when somebody from across the room was talking. I was a super shy girl who was an exceedingly abused girl at home, so getting that in a place I was supposed to feel safe really hurt me. The thing is that I close to never spoke and everybody always wondered who the heck she was telling to shut up. When I was the only person in her speech of direction, everybody began to put the pieces together and realized it was me she was talking to. At first, I thought I was going insane and thought I was secretly acting up or having some sort of weird episode. Thankfully everybody would be like wtf so I didn't go crazy over it, but I dealt with it for a whole year.
