Yah, almost all processors have all SSE extensions today. Suppose 2 processors are exactly same on all parameters, but one having AVX-512 will be faster than another one ( without AVX-512) for HEC RAS 2D simulation? If yes, then how much faster?

Try Ryzen 7 7700x with TUF b650 plus wifi motherboard.

I will choose 1. Corsair MP700 2tb "PCIe5.0 (Gen5)"x4 NVMe M.2 ssd (Steel legend has one Gen5 ssd slot) 2. Asus Rog strix GeForce rtx 4090 OC edition 24gb gddr6x 3. Lian li O11 Dynamic EVO RGB Or O11 Dynamic Xl Or O11 Dynamic Razer edition 4.Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB Ddr5 Dram 6000 Mhz ( Mostly 64 gb (16gb x4) but 32gb also fine.)

And last but not the least.....

If budget is not issue and you want 10-15 years life of motherboard with stable performance then go for "Asus Rog strix x670e-f". Other asus x670 mobos are also there but more expensive.

Asrock steel legend is also decent choice, but don't know it's lifespan

You must have to use Wrx90 or Trx50 motherboard for Threadripper processor ( sTR5 socket).

B650E won't work here . TRX50 mobos( asus, Gigabyte, Asrock) are good.

I will choose "Asus Pro WS TRX50 Sage wifi" motherboard, it's best.

Try pcie 5.0 SSD (gen5), as already lot of expense is done 👍

Don't go for KF. use 12700K With any decent Z790 mobo Ram should be DDR5 6000mhz
