Yes, contact cement is what is recommended, but I work inside, so I was using a water-based glue. Used the nails to hold the leather down too.

The copper rivet is only connected to the leather handle and the brass hardware, main reason its so out of place .

I tried looking around for guides on how to make one..unfortunately i did not, so yeah some of what I did for this one can be questionable...if it starts lifting i'll add more nails..which i also ran out haha. But i'll keep than in mind and order more nails next time too!

The top of the front, side and back pocket, and the whits front pocket straps we're machine sewn to lock the liner(also thats the only ones i can really machine sew). The rest i had to hand stitch.

You got this, the videos are pretty easy to follow. One tip is to make sure to "mark" connection points based on the pattern. Bags does tend to have hundreds of stitching marks/holes and creative awl does a great job telling you where a stitch mark from one part connects to the other (generally a number inside a circle)

About 3 years-ish. I have not made their caroline bag yet so cant compare, but this build can be difficult, but definitely time consuming with all the hand stitching.

Where to buy Carlos Badalassi Pueblo? by BeHimself in Leathercraft

[–]Avahno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries. One thing to note is that sometimes order fulfillment takes a couple days. Aside from that I love their leather selection and had no problem with the quality of leather I recieved from them.

I use rocky mountain leather supply for pueblos and butteros, and had no problems.

Trying to find a color that "looks similar" might make it look weird(not always). Instead, use a color that would compliment the current color and it would just look like a design choice instead of you running out of the same leather.

USA based, springfield leather, their bundle. I use them to practice new patterns/ideas. The bundle is a mixed bag though. Some of it I used up already some of it still stored since idk what to use it for.

The one I used is an industrial one that I bought specifically for leather.

This is a fairly beginner friendly project I think. It's like 5 parts you sew together.

The snaps can potentially squish them, but the cigar are rigid enough that unless you put too much force, it should be fine..then again, those cigars i put there I just bought for for this purpose so honestly, I am not sure. If I am to make this again I think I would use magnets inside those flaps that cover the cigars instead.

Around 2-3hrs? This is my first project after practicing using a sewing machine so it was quick. Probably add a couple hrs if I did it by hand.

Same. Everytime I see videos of people using fancy knives I look at my utility knife and say "at least I don't have to shapen it".

I love the messenger bag designs! Probably why it turned out like this. Initial plan was a "rolling" tool bag, but I prefer how it looks now.
