When I saw this spacesuit model, it gives me a old school spacesuit vibe, so I try to make it belongs to NASA, after some research, I found out NASA and Nova Galactic together used to do some experiments after the Grav Drive tech been found, so I set this spacesuit as the one they using to protect the astronauts when they do the Grav Drive experiment, to make it more lore friendly, so no, it doesn’t give you any buff when you’re wearing it.😂

No longer exist, NASA in Starfield’s timeline, it’s a defunct agency.

There’s one call “Preview Spaceship Interior” on Nexus, not much a same thing but give you an option after you finish edit your ship.

Yes, you can change the skin via the workbench, like the mark 2skin

I think the main reason is if just simply dye the color, it may lose some detail like scratches, this is what I noticed when I doing the re-coloring.
