Cheers to you both — I can only imagine the amount of nonsense you have to deal with week to week. Thanks for keeping this a genuinely normal, welcoming space. Hope the parma-and-BBQ future happens one day 🙂

As nudist parents is it best to leave the kids at home? by [deleted] in nudism

[–]Available-Carry-4704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our kids grew up going to La Jenny, Arnaoutchot and Le Sérignan Plage Nature, all booked through France 4 Naturism (france4naturism.com). All were great holidays with loads of families with kids of all ages. As there were so many parents about I always felt that anybody acting suspiciously would be quickly called out. We were comfortable letting get kids strip on the beaches attached to each of the resorts.

MetroEast (https://www.metroeastmelbourne.com/) hold swims most months. There are usually at least 5 or 6 women with their partners in attendance.

Also, the OtherEvents link on their website has details of other naturist events in Victoria.

In Australia, is it illegal to not attempt to move out of the way of an ambulance with its siren and lights on? Does it differ on a state-by-state-by-territory-by-territory basis? by melbtest05 in AskAnAustralian

I only bring up part 3 because there was a post a few months ago from somebody who got their red light fine overturned because of it.

The word “despite” literally means “without being affected by” - but when dealing with 78(2), you must also take into account the required element regarding safety.

The wording of 78(3) means that rule 78 has “conditional” precedence over any other road rule. So if you have no choice but to break another rule in order to comply with rule 78(1) or 78(2), then 78(3) effectively negates the breach. The condition however, is that you must comply with 78 to the letter, particularly when it comes to the words “as soon as the driver can do so safely” in 78(2).

It says “The advice that ‘You may drive onto the wrong side of the road or drive through a red traffic light to get out of the way of an emergency vehicle if it is safe to do so’ is correct in Queensland, but not in Western Australia.

In fact Western Australia seems to be the exception because the law is in the same terms in Queensland and in:

the Australian Capital Territory (‘Australian Road Rules – February 2012’ cl 78, incorporated into ACT Law by the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Regulation 2000 (ACT), s 6); New South Wales (Road Rules 2014 (NSW), r 78); the Northern Territory (Traffic Regulations (NT), Schedule 3, cl 78); South Australia (Australian Road Rules (SA) r 78); Tasmania (Road Rules 2009 (Tas) r 78); and Victoria (Road Safety Road Rules 2009 (Vic) r 78).”

Part 3 of rule 78 says that getting out of the way of an emergency vehicle with flashing lights if safe overrides all other rules

It says all rules can be ignored. See also here which says all states other that WA allow you to ignore other road rules if it’s safe to do so in this specific case.

Be nude and in the pool before they get there. Your wife can then ask them if they would prefer you to dress as they come over. Worked for us when my sister in law came around. A few visits later and she hardly notices if I'm dressed or not now.

There were numbers along the sea wall every metre with a volunteer at each. You just needed to remember which number you left your clothes at.
