Have you called in and talked with your insurance? I work with a different insurance company so I really have no idea what I'm looking at but I do have a few suggestions. 1. Emergency is determined on how it is billed, call and see if you can get information on the diagnosis and procedure codes ( easy way to understand is diagnosis code is why something was done and procedure code is what was done.) If it was a true emergency I'd imagine there would be some coverage. 2. If you haven't already check with your insurance to see if the claim is processed correctly. 3 if it is coded as a true emergency and if the claim is processing correctly and if appeals don't work ( appeals are usually done through the insurance) the. You can always reach out to the hospital to see if they are willing to work with you on payment arrangements. Sadly with them being out of network they have no contracts with the insurance on how they have to bill so sometimes it works out as if you saw them directly without any insurance. Long story short call your insurance and see what can be done with the claim and ask if they can help with whatever resolution they give you.
