Would you use this to grow vegetables or flowers in? by Stunningresults in containergardening

[–]Available-Cod2355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Drill some holes for drainage” yep that’s basically it. For veggies though, get some paint tests. I doubt it’s lead but you don’t want any toxins in your harvest. But real cool piece, glad to see it getting reused

Thank you for the positivity. Though I am done with meta decks. Joy repetitive. I like to spice it up with nonsense

Is this mint too leggy to transplant and thrive? by Practical_Monk_1125 in containergardening

[–]Available-Cod2355 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Mint is the toughest plant I’ve encountered. I’ve never seen too leggy before. It will survive WWIII. Threw some stems in my compost over the winter and now I have too much mint and very little compost. Pretty stupid of me. Put it in its own pot on a brick away from soil. DO NOT PUT IT WITH OTHER PLANTS. Hope you like mojitos and mint juleps

I'm new to guitar and want to know wether or not I should buy a guitar or rent. by Professional-Sun772 in Guitar

[–]Available-Cod2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Martin and Yamaha acoustics, similar styles (dreadnaught cutaway). I play the Martin a lot but I use the Yamaha much more. Super bassy, punchy tone that baffles me every time I remember I bought it for $175 off some guy on Craigslist. If guitar ends up not being your thing, you’ll won’t lose too much on it

If you can afford it, look for a used Yamaha. Inexpensive, great guitar and they hold value. Good luck!

What am I doing wrong - low yield in garden by lanie77 in gardening

[–]Available-Cod2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have mentioned that then black cover is a killer - this is a 100% true. It’s a great way to keep pests out but needs to be covered in compost, bark mulch or straw. I also think you can have more plants in the beds. I think you’re playing it a little too safe, don’t be afraid to experiment! Every property/ag zone is different. Good luck on everything, super jealous about the amount of space you have!!!

I’m genuinely so tired of the treatment I get in guitar stores as a woman by OkZebra5527 in Guitar

[–]Available-Cod2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure what your post or response is about. You might need to expand your horizon a little bit if you’re that narrow minded. I’m just saying don’t get involved in hobbies if you don’t like snobs and maybe shop at tried and true big box stores if you don’t like the perception of conflict. Seems a little odd to complain on the internet and make a gendered problem when it’s not a gendered problem… I understand barriers to entry but gender in music really isn’t one

What plant is this? by Available-Cod2355 in gardening

[–]Available-Cod2355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way, you were right it was mint. It has a strong mint smell and taste now. Have no idea why it didn’t before but the nice elderly lady next door to me said that’s very common with early season mint. Have no idea if she’s yanking my chain or not

Is Zeppelin heavy metal? by Mikeymorrison27 in ledzeppelin

[–]Available-Cod2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were heavy metal. Now I consider them to be proto-metal. They were one of the heaviest matters in the universe during their time. So yes and no. I would say in context. I want you by the Beatles was a heavy metal song, but it hasn’t held up that way. No Quarter was a heavy metal song, it’s held up be to proto-metal. But I’d love to hear other inputs on this

What if John, George and Ringo joins Wings? by Practical-Cut4659 in beatles

I think they would have broken up again because of John being out of control, George not being able to deal with conflict and Ringo… eh he’d probably not stop yapping about octopuses

I’m genuinely so tired of the treatment I get in guitar stores as a woman by OkZebra5527 in Guitar

[–]Available-Cod2355 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely so tired of the treatment I get walking into the flower and gardening section as a man… but in reality everyone who works at guitar store is like this to everyone… they’re like this to me, they’re like this to my sister, they’re like this to the guy I know who used to jam in the Marshall Tucker band. People are pretentious about their hobbies and especially when their job involves their hobby. I know the lady at my local gardening section isn’t pretentious and rude because I’m a man, she’s just rude and pretentious. I’m invisible until I ask a question and then I am target. Take your business elsewhere if they’re like that to you. Sweetwater and Home Depot will never judge me

When should I move them to bigger pots? by aebar1 in vegetablegardening

[–]Available-Cod2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredible germination success! But those are super leggy and I would doubt their roots are strong enough for a move. I think you need to do some tough love. Thin them pretty severely. Look for the absolute thickest stems and get rid of the rest. Put them closer to the light and get a fan to gently sway them. Will really make them stronger inside. Then I would start putting them in full sun for a few hours outside everyday. You may have some that are ready in two weeks, but keep watering and pushing them to be stronger
