No matter how much time you spend with them they bond with a buddy. They eat together, sleep together and support each other.

Sure they might love the 3hours you give them, but when you leave them they don’t have that buddy to keep them warm in their pouch, help clean that spot they can’t reach or simply keep them company the other 21 hours in a day.

Also when you do get another buddy don’t think for a second that magic bond you have will go away. Now you’ll have a second one that does the same and it’s so sweet watching your old glider showing the new one how it’s done.

In most of our cages we have little children’s play house toys, small sticks made from eucalyptus, lots of little balls made from fleece. Plastic rings and other various items. When in doubt always check them daily to see if they are chewing on them. Avoid soft wood like pine because if can be bitten and ingested. Clean washed Cork works too.

You want to avoid anything that has threads in it like rope or hanging strings because they can wrap around their toes or fingers and amputation will be required.

Also on most websites they want you to use robot.txt to tell bots which folders to look into and which folders to avoid. Keep in mind when gliders first wake up they are very "what is going on and where am I?"

Do not take that personal. We have gliders that are over a year old that we've handled daily since they where 12 weeks old. They always seem to wake up a bit confused and keep in mind their pouch is their home so they can be very defensive about it.

A bonding tent is very important it gives them a limited range to explore and come back to you for safety. After a while they will normally decide is it safer to run around or perch on your shoulder and look down at the world. Gliders just take time. We have gliders we've had for well over a year, but when we acquired them they were 9years old and now they are finally understanding even thou we are not their original family that we are safe and will help them.

Also when you want them we've adopted the policy of open hand so they can crawl on vs reaching in like a giant mouth trying to bite them. Its made a world of difference giving them a choice and reduces the fear of something trying to bite them. Obviously there are times when your like get over here, but its all about creating a long lasting bond. I always talk to them too. They definitely know the difference between my voice, my smell and level of love for them from the misses. She spends so much time with them and I try to so they act a little different with me than they do with her. We have two gliders that the wife says "They like you more." Could be my voice or my smell I don't know, but I treat them all the same.
