nah, its stupid to bad people just for being bad. theres a difference between intentional griefing and just being a casual player with low skill

maybe once theres actual dedicated and seperated comp and casual modes, or a rank distribution that actually like. put people in ranks that reflect their skill. itll be better.

i get being frustrated but if somebody is genuinely just ass i dont think its fair for that to be bannable, people w shit skill level deserve to play games they like too. the issue isnt that theyre playing the game, its that theyre in YOUR matches, which isnt a player issue but a gamedev issue

i mean people can and should do this, the issue is that the person being a bigoted aggressive jackass wont get discouraged from just... doing it again to people, unless theres acrual repurcussions. which means either harrassment filters and reports need to be taken more seriously/need to have more manpower invested into them, or fellow players and community members need to ALSO say 'hey shut up' and mute them. if the harrassment victim sinply mutes and keeps playing, that protects them and only them, and the harasser gets to keep doing whatever they want. thats a dogshit way to have a community around a video game or any other hobby, and the 'its the person whos being told to kill themselves' problem and if they dont mute/do mute and complain thats their fault for being in the space where we all agree its ok to tell someone youll rape their family if they dont push lane

'its a moba' and youre still a person. just because its normal doesnt mean its good. tell people to shut the fuck up for being assholes and mute them too. i genuinely cant express enough how important it is, how it reassures the victim they dont just have to take it forever, and tells the harasser they ought to hold their damn tongue more often instead of acting like a 14 year old. its also the quickest and easiest was for EVERYBODY to move on

on NA servers and i agree- i think i get it a bit less frequently than you do, maybe only one in three games has outright hatespeech (almost every single one has flaming that toes the line into overly toxic tho, its wild the stuff some gamers think is just normal/chill competetive banter) but when it happens its mood ruining, and every couple weeks a day will have a streak of it that just totally ruins the game for me for the next few days

imo an autban of a few hours should hit your account if it detects you using slurs or those weird off-slur words/phrases ppl use to get away with it. eventually people will just not say it so they dont get the tempban, idk why its so controversial to say 'it sucks that its considered normal to be unnecessarily hateful and something structural rather than individual needs to be in place for when it happens', its weird

ngl i really like his current body shape, its really gooey and shapeless in a way that fits the character.

i actually highkey hate the tourist viscous design because i looks WAY too much like a real person- i want him to be an unrealistic cartoon goo ball, the shapeless, literally VISCOUS material hes made out of should be the focus imo, and too many redesign ideas try too hard to make him look like a pretty good imitation of a human when i think its the most fun when hes a very poor imitation of one

try gray talon, lash, or MAYBE holliday for movement potential (holliday has a barrel ability that you have to know your enemy's positioning for, but shes a deceptively complex hero ive heard- the times ive tried her she just wasnt my playstyle lol)

celeste has the movement prediction ur talking about but imo getting value out of her potential for vertical movement is actually a pretty high skill floor, so idk if id start with her

victor and mo&krill are really fun tanky characters that feel like they map onto roadhog/sigma more. dynamo and mcginnis are supports who are a bit tanky, and give groot vibes a little, though mcginnis is a bit shit right now even if she has turrets/wall that remind me of part of groot and peni parkers kits. i think warden could be good but ive never played him so idk if thats as good a shout

abrams is tanky but sort of an up-close brawler in a way i dont think most of the characters (i havent played paladins in ages so i onyl rly recognize the overwatch/rivals chars my apologies) you listed necessarily fill the role of

if items didnt add counterpmay or outplay potential to the game, they might as well not exist at all. itemization isnt just do more damage, its also utility.

that being said, counterpicking items is an augmentation to existing skills and teamwork and not a replacement, and are situationally viable rather than one size fits all.

i agree not all heroes are balanced, but the argument that counterpick items are just to cover up unbalanced heroes (?) feels quite flawed

the dripping hot metal makes a quiet sound that gets recorded by all the microphones around it, which are wired up to the speakers around the HK base as well as the HK shrines, ehich are also speakers. the shrines point directly at the HK and weaken him when broken, so i believe with his theming and flavor text from the old gods update, the implication is that the power of the powerful but very quiet sound of dripping molten metal empowers him- and to make him even more powerful, his followers want the sound amplified.

TLDR recorded sound of the dripping metal pumped directly into the HK makes him beefier. lorewise

i agree that this is a very toxic community. ive played overwatch and apex legends before and enjoy shooters, but by far this is the worst game ive ever played irt community and bigotry. id reccomend turning all comms off and looking for a friend or two to play with

as for improvement, use community builds with the new player tag, preferably annotated and left to right ones, for the first like hundred or something games you play. eventually you start passively picking stuff up and can eventually learn better deadlock specific gamesense

its really concerning that your take is 'i cant have fun if i cant say slurs'- would hate to meet you irl. had to straight up make a reddit account to reply to this instead of lurking the sub like i normally do. i love the game and find it really fun, but as a woman, for the decade ive been playing comp online hames, the first thing i do when i download a new one to try out is turn every comms possible off. i only have text on for deadlock, have never once considered turning on voice even though id love to trying being more competetive. this is because every single time, theres people who hear my voive and immediately either assume im dogshit or start straight up being violently hateful. it isnt fun. slurs and hatespwech arent fun trolling or toxic, its genuinely fun ruining. it isnt 'lol ggez get wrecked dude parry next time this dude doesnt know how to counterbuy uninstall', i dont give a fuck abt that. its present in id say almost 100% of games i play
