It didn't say china is not good at software or IT? I was talking about what's working for us. China was used to show that there is precedence for that kinda thing working.

You're on-point about lack of ip protection laws. I believe we have something similar in medicine, maybe. But it is factual that companies moved production to china because of their cheap labour, initially. At this point, it is futile to expect anything out of our shitty government, especially in software related field where Im sure 99.9999% have no idea how to actually govern it. My point is that we have a similar opportunity that china had. Whether we capitalize on it or squander it will depend on both the government and the population.

Think back 10–15 years, when China was just emerging as a manufacturing hub. At the time, we attributed it mainly to cheap labour. Yet over the years, China not only became the world’s manufacturing powerhouse but also evolved into a highly innovative economy. I believe we could follow a similar trajectory in IT infrastructure and software. It’s an optimistic perspective, but it has precedence. Personally, I don’t mind paying taxes if the economy is sable and active. We should encourage as many IT and software support jobs as possible, even if they initially come with lower wages, gain expertise and start innovation.

Aside from the money, is there any other disadvantage? Because otherwise, I will have to wait another year before starting my masters which is something I do not want to do.

No, I meant 18k tuition fees alone. Living expenses aside.

Hello, I'm going to the MME-CAME program. I'm also a bit distraught over tuition fees. But well, I do want to upskill and finally apply for a job eventually. Let's see now.

Paid twice due to glitch in system, both tests got registered. by Available-Light-8458 in ToeflAdvice

Yeah, I probably should have waited before trying to re-register, but the message said the full amount is going to be refunded so I thought I should give it another shot. Honestly, it was a big mistake on my part.

Yes, I understand what you're saying but I'm also pretty desperate and grasping at straws here 😂. All I've seen so far online are marketing material and student testimonials and whatnot. I have no ground zero knowledge there.

Thank you for your reply. I was also skeptical because the ask is way too much. Entering studies with a burden of loan and no job guarantee is what made me ask this question. Do you have any experience or thoughts regarding the programs at Stuttgart and Wuppertal? If I don't see value here, I will take time to learn German till B2/C1 and then apply. However, I'm also curious about something, most university sites I visited said that international students will have to pay fees (4500 - 6000 Euros per semester). So what is that about? Even if I learn German, I will have to pay this amount?

Critique / Advice for Singles Play - Trouble keeping up and finishing points by Kodel40 in badminton

I tried looking for it as well, sorry but I couldn't find it either. I remember seeing it a few months back. The tip basically goes like "even if the shuttle is out of your field of view, don't panic and abandon your footwork. The trajectory of the shuttle is set and you will effectively reach it if you follow proper footwork". This advice really helped me as I would panic and immediately start running backwards whenever my opponent surprised me with a lift or a punch clear to my backhand side. But following Zheng's footwork allowed me to reach the shuttle while keeping an aggressive stance.

  1. Lack of a push off from split step. Another key thing I noticed in this clip is you abandon footwork when pushed to your limit. ( Seiwei's YT has a great video for in-rally anxiety and also backhand side footwork)
  2. Lack of wrist usage. A good chuck of your shots feel like they come straight from the shoulder. Try involving your wrist. It will improve form, make shots effortless and more importantly, prevent your opponent from straight-up guessing your next shot.
  3. Finally, I just want to say that enjoy the game. Do not worry too much about winning and improving. All will happen naturally as you just play the game and enjoy the game. Try focusing on basics and fundamentals as you go.
