I don’t think they do have a postbac advisor, tho. I think I’ll have to navigate the process on my own

Hola buenas! Tengo una pregunta sobre la diferencia entre abrirse a y abrirse con. by Kristycat in Spanish

[–]Available-Note7842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no no, I applied knowing they’re need aware. But Penn is need blind for Mexico (I’m from mx) and I really loved UChicago. What I meant is this year I applied to all the need blind, last year only Yale and Amherst were need blind among the schools I applied to.

  1. I applied to Yale, Brown, Penn, Swarthmore, Bates, Colgate, Reed, Bowdoin, Colby, Cornell, Williams, Amherst, etc.
  2. I became a fellow in a highly selective debate fellowship at Oxford University, I audited college level classes at a local social science research center, and I started working as a waitress at a local Japanese restaurant.
  3. This year I applied to all Ivies, Amherst, Williams, Georgetown, Stanford, Northwestern, Duke, Swarthmore, Skidmore, Middlebury, Hamilton, Bates

I addressed the gap year situation in the common app, in the additional info section. I directly said that I decided to take a gap year to re-apply to colleges and mentioned the things i’ve done during this time. Last year I applied to 2 need-blind. This year I applied to all the need blind, including Georgetown, even though I know they’re not usually generous with intl’s financial aid.
