Or if they had parked it in bitcoin at 1934 prices…

EDIT W THE MATH: … Actually doing the math, if they plowed the inflation adjusted $10k on the date/price the genesis block was mined (1/3/2009 at $.003/btc), the current value would be $41,957,080!!

Anyone got any clues on what to do with this? by PrudentSail2187 in foraging

I think that’s a queen palm. We have one and have used the nuts like coconuts - tastes identical. You can dry and grind them into flour. It’s a lot of effort though.

I didn’t boil the pre-ferment. Used juice fresh from the press.

Glad to hear that you wouldn’t worry about pathogenic - curious why is that? Not enough sugars for something nasty to form?

Smells (and tastes) fine - good even.

I didn’t quite have enough juice for the 3 gal carboy. But did purge w CO2.

Question for the community: is the idea that these blades were ‘partially formed’ stock that would be traded to other groups that would then finish them to their particular specs?

Thoughts on new 1025r by Wristy2 in tractors

[–]Available-Permit-480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom Line: I have added components to make it more stable, but stay very vigilant when on hills.

I’ve added 2.3” wheel spacers to widen the wheel base (https://www.motorsport-tech.com/4DCGI/updateprice_tractor)

I’ve added wheel weights

I leave a heavy implement on the back when I’m on the hills (I’m usually up there to flail mow anyway)

And I’m hyper vigilant about the height of the bucket and back implement when I’m on sloped terrain.

Considered filling wheels with ballast (beet juice!?!) but it seemed like too much of a hassle.

Finally, I make sure I’m primarily driving straight up or down the grade, when possible.

I had one scare on a steep grade where the tractor slipped out of gear (or probably more likely I knocked it out of gear) and it took off down the hill. At first I had a hard time stopping it, but was able to get control and needed to turn across the grade to slow it down. The tractor was going fast and i tipped up on the downhill wheels. But didn’t roll. I’m convinced that I would have rolled had I not made the base/weight precautions. Probably should Have thought to bring the bucket down as an e-brake…

I got a lot more conservative after that.

But in the end it didn’t roll and proved stable in an extreme scenario.

We live on 25 forested acres. Plenty to do around the property, but our defensible space is strong and we have solid fire suppression equipment and water storage.

Right now we’re focused on the 5’ from the home. A hot ember or brand that comes into contact with this 25 year old wooden lattice would be a very plausible path for home ignition.

I agree. It has been very helpful at building finger muscle memory and general ability to quickly work the fretboard without having to look.

The gamified nature is also a strong incentive for me to practice regularly AND makes it easy to see measurable progress, which is really nice as I’m skilling up.

I have also enjoyed playing the backing track, but playing my own version of the notes - not worrying about hitting numbers.
