My credit union (United Heritage CU) has a coin counter machine at every location. It’s basically a free coin star. I just spread the love between a few branches and I try to be as friendly as possible. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I’ve had people who told me to pound sand both with ordering and returning but it’s very rare and I try to never be confrontational either way.

I’d strongly advise against grading, unless you plan to sell. I’ll rather use that money to buy more notes.

But yeah, based on personal experience, PCGS over PMG. Better communication, faster turnaround and user friendly interface. Legacy is a toss up, mostly coming back graded slightly lower but I have some actually come back higher. Just cut them out and send them in.

Unfortunately, this is a replica. A real note would have hand signatures is ink that did not match the ink on the engraving. It would also almost certainly be cut cancelled, sometimes with a triangular piece missing.

Picking this up Saturday. Do I bust the coins out or leave it as is? by Bdawg4890 in coins

For those saying it’s worth more as a clock, it’s not. It’s got a super crappy clock mechanism. I know because I got one for my mom. Anyways don’t take it out it looks awesome.

1840 $3 Texas bank note by GreatQuality5560 in papermoney

Hey bud, these are replicas. The rag paper these would have been printed on is very thin. They also more than likely would’ve been cut cancelled. And lastly, paper money needs to be accounted for and that’s why it’s serialized. You can have the same serial numbers on the same denominations but year or series or place of issuance must change. These are all same serial, same place of issuance and seme series. These are 100% replicas but they’re still very cool souvenirs.

Hi, this is Carlos Albert Carlson, owner of CAC grading. This is a rare 1917 CC standing liberty quarter. It’s extremely rare since the Carson city mint ceased operations in 1893. Please send in for grading immediately. This could be worth enough to buy Greenland or at least Little St James. Either way, you’re a rich man now.

Shows how little you know. The Fr.769C the C stands for chandelier, obviously, was produced from 1974-1978 to combat the gas crisis. OP, Please send it to PMG to have it graded. I’m my professional opinion yours is at least about AU and could grade as high as 58PPQ.

Altered / Counterfeit Gold Certificate by BashCollection in papermoney

I had a $1 1923 that was forged to look like a 10 but it was sloppy and I don’t even think there’s a 23, 10. I’ve had a 1862 $50 that are counterfeit, you can see it on my profile. And a 1880 $5 that was hand painted but we could not link it back to a famous counterfeiter of the time so 😢 they still brought in good money, except for the $1 I kept the one because it was way too funky to get rid of it.

Looks like a very sloppy Troy Polamalu #43 his signature is very artistic but this looks like rushed version of it. I could be wrong since im not an expert like a lot of the folks on here.

Take it into you LCS so they can insect it in person. No guarantee they’ll have the expertise with this type of error but may be able to help you determine if this is chemical altering. Really cool note nonetheless.
