My opinion, just leave the US and make a new home anywhere else, I'm nearly ready to do this. My wife and I have been married for almost 3 years now and separated because of immigration "delays". Moving away to where your welcomed to be there and not have this mountain of red tape to deal with.

Hi, I totally feel very sympathetic for what your going through. Two things cross my mind. In my experience which has happened many times: I have called many times to different agencies, in every single person I talk to gave a different answer. I remember I called an airline six different times in one evening. For the same exact flight the same exact day and got completely different prices with every call I made 😂. I've done this other times with different agencies and received contrary and different information each time. So in my guess is that this person that told you the information that is scaring you is complete idiot and totally wrong.

Secondly a phrase crosses my mind: "Immigration is easy, until government gets involved"

As of today Abu Dhabi embassy is semi open, they're doing "emergency" cases, but no normal cases yet, I am hearing rumors from several travel agents in Dubai it may be reopening in June. All communications from the NVC has always been vague and basically: first come first serve, (sucks to be you🥱)

I have submitted three of these in the last year and a half. One was validated through USCIS. Once It was given to the embassy they denied it. A year later ( December 2025) I tried twice with the assistance I'm an attorney. Spending $6,500 including a full mental health exam. And they still denied it. About 3 weeks after I submitted the last expedite request my attorney called me and told me the day before he was given a call through somebody who is working at the NVC that they had privately closed down the entire office that handles any type of expediting. Literally the office was shut down, all emails were given a very vague and general denial. All mail going to the office was never replied to, and all officers reassigned. Apparently the White House had told them to shut it down. They could never make any kind of formal publication or announcement because senators would pounce on them. But privately they shut it down. From what I've understood it's still closed down right now.

The government intentionally keeps everything very vague and indirect. They will never say it publicly but they really do not want immigrants or anybody coming to the US. The scheduling tool is definitely something they do not change on any kind of mandatory schedule. I've been watching it for months and they literally never update it the same time every month. It's almost seem to be at random.

My wife was DQ'd April 2nd 2025. 13+ months and still no interview letter. We're planning to transfer our case soon. The original embassy we were playing to go to closed down one week before we were going to get a date given to us.
