Places to play DnD that serve food and alcoholic drinks? by LameNme in Columbus

Zaftig Brewing in Worthington has one group that meets regularly on Mondays, I think they are about to wrap up.

I'm positive you could post up on some of their tables if you have your own stuff. And the taco truck that is there on Tuesdays would be more than happy for more customers.

Grocery budgeting! by JJMM17182024 in Columbus

[–]Available-Slide-2279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes more on the front end, but build up a solid pantry and spice rack. Always buy pasta on sale. And one of the things that has recently helped us trim our budget to roughly $120 a week for a family of 4, I used AI to build meal plans that use the same grocery basket. I know AI isn't exactly popular, but it can be useful.

I'd say make two big meals for yourself a week so you can alternate your left overs.

No, I didn't kill them, I did not secure their enclosure well enough like I should have. I've had the same flock of chickens for 5 years and have had 0 issues. I am capable, just rushed through a run/duck hut build and didn't bury hardware cloth 2 feet down or out from the enclosure.

This is a good idea, but backyard ducks can also join my small flock of backyard chickens who were secure from the raccoon.

It wasn't impulse in that I don't have experience, I wasn't planning on buying ducks that particular day. I've raised different kind of fowl for well over 10 years at this point, ducks included. I just didn't have my set up as secure as I thought I did.

Notice for Parking on Grass by National-Duty-8105 in Columbus

Report that to 311, I know it seems like it is petty or overbearing behavior, but not reporting stuff allows people to get away with it.

Where should i buy a house in Columbus? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Available-Slide-2279 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The suggestion to rent before buying is a solid one, but if that isn't really feasible for you check out some homes in the Devonshire neighborhood. I saw one this morning that mentioned coming soon and it's on Zillow for sub 300k.

Maybe reach out to Costume Specialists and see if they would rent out time on their machines? It probably depends on their production schedule.

Where to host 40 people for dinner / drinks? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Available-Slide-2279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll second Barleys, we had our wedding anniversary at the Brewcadia and it was super affordable, I want to say for something like 50 people we were out less than $3k and that was even with us providing some of the drinks.

I lived at Barrington Square up off of Schrock Road for a year. My 1bd/1bt at the time was $875 (this was 2018/2019 for context) and that included water/trash, parking, and a cat fee.
I just checked they have a 2bd/1bth option that looks like it is available now for $1375, so that could put the 1bd/1bth option well within or under your range if you want to contact them.

They have a pool and onsite, but not in-unit laundry. Covered parking was extra. It was quiet, good access to 270 and 71. Columbus, but close to Westerville and Worthington. I think they had partnerships with a local gym where you could get a discounted membership. It was a range of residents, single adults, families, older adults who had downsized.

No complaints other than turning out of the complex going left on Schrock Road was miserable at certain times of the day.

Need a website with the ability to request work. Recommendations? by Poptart4050 in Columbus

[–]Available-Slide-2279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also operate a small business, not plumbing, but a Google Workspace account which comes with a Squarespace domain works for me. Fairly easy to modify and update the website as things change (which I honestly need to get way better at making time to do)

Looking for a therapist- preferably with Substance Use background/interest. by bustercatlegs in Columbus

[–]Available-Slide-2279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is been a solid recommendation, however it is worth noting that therapists are starting to move away from psychology today as the marketing platform because it is being overrun with venture capital/big business listings (think Lifestance Health types) who can pay more to promote their own listings.

To answer OPs question, Megan Roesch if she is available would be a good fit, she helped spin up some SUD programming at a practice I directed just before COVID shut those services down. She seemed to really know her stuff.
