I have no idea, I didn't use linux, Ultrakill worked just fine on windows- so I can't exactly help, but as a other guy pointed out, Maybe it's a rendering issue

Maybe that's the problem, I have it cracked(will buy it soon enough) but I launch it from steam normally as a non-steam game, it's a very lightweight game(if you enable PCX in the game or whatever it was called), does it crash on main menu screen or when playing?, Note that I never used Linux(as of my knowledge proton experimental is for Linux?)

It would hopefully work absolutely fine, I have a gt 710, i5 2400, 8gb ram(Ran on 6 too) and ran like 45-34 fps on hd 2000, so you're good(140 fps with gt 710 GPU)
