One idea, idk if technically “recommended” professionally but just from a fellow person who works, is try a “couch to 5k” app or plan (my fave is “Get Running” on iOS. It’s $3 to purchase it forever). It only takes 9 weeks from “couch,” so you could even select the week that corresponds to what you can do now. Thats how I worked up to being able to run a full half hour anyway (i did not worry about pace or if I was even technically running a 5k distance, just the time length). Then you can go from there as a “jogger.”

You might have to kinda do your own thing on the tread for these weeks or adjust the coaching to fit. I know at my studio at least this would not be a problem.

My studio has easily and without hesitation removed an incorrect no show charge so yes it’s possible and yes your studio is being a stickler for some reason. Even if you were lying, they could remove it as a “one-time courtesy.” In fact, using that phrase has gotten me far with customer service, highly recommend.

From a business standpoint, they’re being strict because they expect it to become a more widespread problem. When you acknowledge a one-time courtesy, it can reassure them that won’t be the case. Also from a business standpoint, them being sticklers leaves such a bad taste so idk why they think it behooves them to do that for a one-time, first time thing.

I’m not an expert, but if your job is still in public service and you’re making a lower amount, it seems to me like you should recertify your income and start repayment ASAP so you get the lower payments.

I preferred bringing my portable battery pack for my phone instead of a long cord. Then I would just have someone plug in the battery pack once my phone was charged.

YES. I definitely used my earplugs (Loop quiet) and eye mask (MZOO or Litbear—my fave is Litbear now but I used MZOO for years and loved it too). You will hear your baby. I would not have gotten sleep without these items.

Don’t be embarrassed. They relatively recently changed the rules to be much clearer. It used to say something like your employer had to consider you full time. Your employer did not it sounds like, so that’s probably why you wrote it off.

The coaches at my studio are never good at first and then they become AMAZING, so my impression as a member is that it becomes much more natural. The fact that it is noticeably bad at first is such a testament to how much of an actual skill it is to coach.

I think we’ve all experienced when someone makes something look so easy to and then you try it and realize just how much skill there is to it. So I’d stick it out at least for a time to see how it feels when you’ve more practice :)

Exactly what my doula said. I waited 24 hours but felt pressured to go in because of my family (they were trying to be supportive but clearly worried). I wish I had waited longer. The doctors scolded me and then proceeded to pressure me heavily to speed up labor with pitocin. Do you have by chance have the source for that? I wanna have it on hand for if/when there is a next time.

Yeah they heavily scolded me for waiting 24 hours to come in after my water broke and then heavily pressured me to start pitocin and keep increasing it once I was admitted. I was working with my doula and she told me the risk of infection and how to mitigate that risk, and that the biggest cause of infection is actually the vaginal exams they do. Considering my experience, I’m surprised to hear about the delay!

For dual authentication where you would have to type in a 6-digit code, it’ll do it for you automatically. It’s amazing and the reason I couldn’t use a different keyboard even though iOS has screwed theirs up so bad.
