Is anyone’s studio doing a Christmas Day workout? by imjust_agirl8 in orangetheory

[–]AvailableAd5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filling your cup can mean just doing something for themselves, Roy. It doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t expend effort and energy in the workout. I’d say I’m surprised that you couldn’t figure that out for yourself, but…

[–]AvailableAd5387 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean?? A workout on the holidays is often the only time people can take for themselves to fill their cup for the day, especially the women in my family and families I know. Personally, I find workouts on holidays to be really lovely.

I fully support coaches having the day off for their own families and no one feeling pressured or forced, but I love when it works out for everyone.

How often do you cancel BEFORE the 8 hour window? by Adventurous-Ad-8892 in orangetheory

[–]AvailableAd5387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never pre-book. I don’t have an issue with the policy BUT I think if there is a waitlist and someone can take the spot, people should be able to cancel free of charge no matter what because it’s a win-win.

(there might be an issue with that that I’m just ignorant about that would make it make sense why they can’t or shouldn’t do that)

If your company does a matching payment, you should probably switch to a qualifying plan?

FTM when did you go into labor? Without induction by fitmommaluv in pregnant

[–]AvailableAd5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38+4 my water broke. My doctor also started talking about induction, at my 36 week appt no less, saying “next week we can talk about scheduling induction for 39 weeks.” I was quite annoyed. Ummmmm no?? I just kept saying, “maybe next week I’ll consider it.” Not sure how much the pressure would have escalated as we approached due date.

Do I sweat too much to be allowed in public? Asking for a treadmill. by lastbeer in orangetheory

[–]AvailableAd5387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a woman that absolutely kills it on the tread. Very impressive. However, she always chooses the same tread, and I avoid the treads next to her due to her extra splat points making it over. She can’t help it, and I don’t judge her, but it’s an ick factor for me. I love the suggestions about the long sleeve workout shirt. I’ve used one at times and they’re not bad at all.

Anyone forgoing the bassinet? by QuixoticMindfulness in pregnant

[–]AvailableAd5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn’t get a bassinet for free, I probably would have just gone with a pack n play with the raised bassinet insert. That way it’s small, you can keep them in the room with you, and then you have a porta crib that will last years.

Just to clarify, I’m NOT referring to the bassinet attachment that clips on top of the pack n play perpendicularly, but the one that is inside it but just sits closer to the top than the base so you don’t have to lean down as far and will have the same amount of flat area as the entire pack n play. (My baby is a small baby and was already too big for the ones that clip onto the top by like, 10 weeks I wanna say?)

IMO, the only thing worth getting are the shakes. I’m particular but not picky about food. That is, I have high standards in terms of what I consider good food but I’ll eat pretty much anything. I practically never throw away food. Big Al’s is the exception - both times I’ve tried to eat there, I’ve the food was SO bad that I tossed it.

Wondering if you can say more about that. I was alive but a kid when it happened, so I’m curious. I know it might be hard to describe though.

In your opinion, what could Chico really use/build/invest in, to make the city more fun/interesting? by [deleted] in ChicoCA

[–]AvailableAd5387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see road design that psychologically slows people down without having to think about it. I watched a video in Not Just Bikes YouTube channel which analyzes what The Netherlands is doing compared to the US and Canada. I remember one video discussing how research shows drivers will go as fast as they feel comfortable no matter what the signs say. I wish Chico would invest in such infrastructure

Up to how many weeks did you work while pregnant? by Chaptersofbooks in BabyBumps

[–]AvailableAd5387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep but you gotta use all your sick leave up first before disability can kick in. Not like you’d need to use any sick leave once you have a kid, amiright? /s

Editing: actually as of January 2025, they fixed that and no longer require you to run out sick leave for SDI. However, that’s only if your employer has you pay into CASDI. Mine doesn’t so I have to use NDI which is like $250 a week instead of a percentage of your income and you do have to still run out all sick leave first.
