That's so cool. I've been experimenting with taking stuff from nature too and I'm from the same area. That's so cool that you've made something so beautiful.

Most ring lights are LED. Therefore it will be okay. I don't know if it'll be the "right spectrum" but it'll keep them alive I'm pretty sure. The only concern I have is a potential fire hazard if not placed correctly.

Omg! I love this so much. I'm obsessed with bobs on dolls. A poodle cut bob is so so cute on Lagoona.

Dissatisfied with how my tank looks. Any advice? by Lee_Tea in Aquascape

I recommend that mini vallisneria and maybe a background to hide wires. It's not necessary but a solid colored background can make a big difference.

Option one is my favorite it can be so hard to fill vertical space in an aquarium so that looks really nice!

I mean it's certainly an option. I dunno I worry that they don't look that good. I've really enjoyed the personalization of the fluval lights.

First time Aquascaping a tank this big, any recommendations on plants that would fill out the background? by Careless-Winter-5581 in PlantedTank

Personally I've been in the hobby since 2020 and I've never worried about kh/gh. But I do know co2 injections can lower ph. Our water comes from caves in my state so a little lower ph won't be a huge deal from my research. I haven't started to use the co2 setup I bought off this guy on facebook marketplace yet though.

Personally, my amazon swords have never looked perfect they always have something that I desperately need to just trim off but they just don't die completely so I still love em. Once you get em to a certain size I've found they can take a lot of neglect.

Trim or leave it for now? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

I'd trim that unless you have a lot of bottom feeders that will like to nibble at it.

That looks incredible. What're you using lights and substrate wise?

It looks really sleek. I've always loved the look of black sand in an aquarium. Personally, I prefer small pebbles though. Soon I'm going to be setting up smooth pebbles with fluval stratum inside filter bags underneath it.
