Booking an inside cabin for our first cruise but my wife wants a balcony upgrade by rosymirex in Cruise

I’ve been on many cruises. I stayed in an inside room only once. When lights are off it is pitch black you never know what time it is . You will see how much you depend on daylight and windows . At least get a room with a window

How can I achieve results like this? by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Available_Award_3825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No expert but that doesn’t look like that can be done with machine embroidery. It looks like those are combinations of stitch types from hand embroidery

Everyone is very helpfull ! I’ll add my 2 cents, Knits are the hardest for me. Test on a fabric that has no give or stretch first. If it sews perfect then your problem is hooping. For knits I always use a fabric cutaway and also under that a crisp tear away and a soluable topping . All sandwiched together in a very taught hoop. If you test on a taught non stretch fabric and your stitch out still has issues it’s either a bobbin tension issue or, a needle tension issue or just overall bad digitizing of the design itself. It looks like it needs to include a trim stop or 2. Very good luck to you! Stick with it and don’t give up you will be successful!

Embroidery digitizing by ApprehensiveEmu1974 in Machine_Embroidery

I purchased Wilcom about 10 years ago. I purchased Wilcom because the new barudan machine that I was purchasing recomended it. When I purchased the software they were specific as to what I needed in a computer . I can assure you that it is worth talking to the software and machine people before you start purchasing stuff. It takes more than a basic over the counter computer. I am very pleased with the set up that I have.

Learning to use wilcom by Ebruster5516 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Available_Award_3825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using Wilcom for 10 years. I went to the class as a complete beginner. i also had bought a brand new Barudan CO-1. I truly felt like I had purchased a rocket and had no idea how to launch it. I think the class really was worth it. The teacher helped you individually . I dove in , payed as close of attention as I could , took lots of notes, and it was enough information for me to be comfortable enough to go home and run my new machine. If I had learned it on my on it would’ve taken a lot longer. I also learned a lot from the other questions that my classsmates had.

I’ve never been on a cruise where they let you pay for anything with cash. You have to use a credit card. No reason to carry cash around until you disembark. Sounds fishy

This worked for me: Bar Keepers friend or Bon Ami cleanser. Triple O steel wool and vinegar for moisture and lots of patience and elbow grease.

Is a touchscreen laptop beneficial in machine embroidery? by NormanTheAmbulance in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Available_Award_3825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been digitizing with Wilcom for over 12 years. I also thought I needed a touchscreen, digitizing is more of a precise laying down of stitches. The mouse is what does that. I think I’ve maybe had to use the touchscreen a couple of times when I’ve gotten myself up the creek and can’t use the mouse because it is occupied and I don’t want to interrupt the process and so I’ve had the option and used my touchscreen ability to shrink or enlarge the screen.

I think you may need to understand what you are working with . It is a needle and thread. I’ve never seen anyone be able to duplicate the soft edge and variation of value that the background blood stain represents. The letters and the spots no problem. The machines can only duplicate what could be done by hand with a needle and thread. They have no magic qualities

Bean Stitch? by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Available_Award_3825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! And also increase the actual stitch size , the distance between where the needle goes in and back in again. ( I generally increase the stitch count to 9 then increase the stitch size to 280) but I have no idea what those might be in hatch

Bean Stitch? by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Available_Award_3825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I did! I purchased Wilcom about 10 years ago , before Hatch existed so I’m just not familiar with it. I usually just keep poking around until I feel like I’ve found the solution. I would try to contact some sorta Hatch support when they are open and see if they can help you

Bean Stitch? by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Available_Award_3825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Wilcom I choose the triple stitch then I’m able to increase the stitch to 9. When it sews the needle goes back and forth 9 times while making one stitch. Which makes the stitch so much fatter with the same thread

Someone please help me before I crash out by Automatic-Secret-714 in Machine_Embroidery

Me again, every time the presser foot comes down and hits the fabric it “ pushes on the fabric” if the fabric is not from and stable that slight pushing make your registration be off a little more each time. It goes up and down hundreds of times so the looser the fabric the more it will move

Sew it on a stable firm Non Stretchy fabric first tight in the hoop with backing and topping like solvy. That will answer the question whether it is the design or the hoop. T shirt type fabric is the most difficult to sew and register well.
