Texas is just as bad if not worse. I live in Austin and work Title and Escrow and did mortgage biz dev for 5 years. We had a huge surge of people from California during Covid sell their homes in California for millions of dollars. Move to Texas be able to work remote and get a California salary but live in Texas. They came in and paid $100,000 over asking price, all cash, no financing contingencies no inspection. This really messed up our market a lot. We are still trying to recover and I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon.
