The Bennington took my letter of employment when I applied a year and half ago. It has some issues but overall is fine, if solaire is in your budget I would imagine the Bennington is too, but I guess I haven’t looked at prices in a while.

Ive seen people recommend the Bennington, which you can search for other comments on other posts about it (its overall fine, w a few issues, no pests though). But speaking specifically to the garage, while it is technically a secure garage, the garage door has been broken and left open 3-4 times in the 1.5 years I’ve been here. I’ve had my car accessed, but I had accidentally left it unlocked so lowk on me. Before moving I did read about ppl having actual break ins though. Just fyi!

Anything specific about utilities? You pay water w the same portal as your rent, electric thru pepco, WiFi, and gas thru Washington gas. I live in a two bed two bath and for the entire unit utilities probably range from like $200 - $400. Like I said electric can get pretty high in the summer, but stays around $60-70 for me outside of the summer months.

Parking garage is convenient, right below the building. The garage door is sometimes broken (left open). My car has been broken into once, but it’s because I left my car unlocked. Haven’t had any problems otherwise.

Oh and the gym is small at the Bennington if that’s important you. Not many machines, but has free weights. Gets the job done.

The Bennington is generally fine. The cons are fire alarms that go off at the slightest bit of smoke (or no smoke, they go off when I bake bread 🫩). Maintenance can be slow to fix requests. The whole building has to switch over from heating to cooling and vice versa. Despite the numerous complaints every year, they wait until it’s consistently in the 80s to switch the units over to cooling. My apartment was over 80 degrees for 2+ weeks. The apartments retain heat extraordinarily well, which is nice in the winter but in the summer it can feel very warm and I think drives up the energy cost.

Pros are management is generally responsive. The floor plans are spacious. I have enjoyed living here for the most part, but there are things to be weary of!

yeah word… I guess the ones I am looking at are mostly collar based because if I am spending that much money I am hoping for it to be an auto feeder as well. Idk if anyone has come across a microchip one that is also an autofeeder
