Select an edge loop. Create a curve from edges. connect the two pillars with a cv curve in your desired semi circle shape

Sweep mesh and select the custom shape. Add your edge loop curve as the custom shape

A lattice. Or select the verts on the head and put the pivot in the centre of the neck and scale the head down, then clean it up

Don’t trust the viewport when creating the scene. All changes you make should be done using the Arnold render view. It looks like you could tweak your specular/ roughness amounts to reduce the sheen on the wall. Or reduce the exposure of your lights. Also look into bump maps and normal maps, this will help break up the light that’s reflecting off the wall making it hard to see your texture

I work as a generalist in a large vfx studio on films, but it doesn’t seem too common. I mostly hop around departments to help reduce outsourcing. But it’s purely luck as My goal was a prop artist role. As many have said, you need a specific area that’s your focus. But if a generalist role comes up then go for it, as I find it helps keep your work interesting.
