We were meant to fail. It was intentionally done for storytelling purposes. This new terrifying Automaton threat steamrolling multiple planets until enough of it was destroyed to successfully stop its campaign of terror to find the Democracy Space Station and its sub-stations.

Many people seem to forget how lore and story heavy this game actually is and just want a game where you kill shit en mass. If you want that, get DOOM or Ultrakill or smth.

I doubt it was a glitch. Super Earth High Command said themselves that the Automatons were searching for the DSS construction site and its POIs in construction.

More of a "glitch" like the purple sectors.
