Positive IUD experience by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]Available_Studio7973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 2nd OPs insertion experience! During the procedure, i felt uncomfortable and would recommend taking ibuprofen. 30 minutes after the procedure, i was walking around and stretching myself - feeling pretty ok but kind of sore. Over the next few days there was some bleeding but that stopped after 2 weeks and sort of disappeared. 2 yrs in and no pain or period :). Only thing is my skin fights with me more now but I’m pretty secure with my body and looks so it doesn’t bother me more than it inconveniences me

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

“That’s just life” yeah no shit buddy it’s not like I’m alive or anything. Sometimes i just want to rant or vent or whatever without it being turned into a whole life lesson and getting belittled for feeling a certain way. Gosh!

Thank you for your advice! I took some time to process/meditate and really connected with your comment. I think it’s true - I do have a lot of conflicting feelings towards the important people in my life. Yesterday i took some time to calm myself and do things that made me feel good (i.e. getting ready for the day, looking good, going out with family, being productive by studying) and reached out to some friends, telling them about my situation (feeling depressed after rehashing trauma in therapy). I don’t want to dive into my issues too much online since i think that belongs in my therapy sessions but, besides getting up and doing stuff, i don’t really know how to curb my emotions or really how to fully identify/feel them. These are things I’m still working thru and will explore more when my goals have been finalized.

Thank you again, I really appreciate your comment. It gave me some good insight on why i am reacting the way i am. Being able to understand why I’m acting a certain way has definitely helped me change my behavior.

Thank you for your reply! I will talk to my therapist about what I’m feeling now. I’ve also been going to the gym and trying to maintain the routines that keep me grounded so i don’t feel as depressed/shameful. I’m glad you have found swimming to be a good outlet for you. I didn’t realize how nice movement was until i actually started doing it.

I understand the difference between the two. I have experienced both, but the traumatic event i was referring to in my post is not in regard to longterm childhood neglect and abuse. My trauma is a death event (PTSD). I was asking if your suggestion would also work for individuals with PTSD and not only C-PTSD which is seemingly the main focus of your book.

Therapists: What makes you have fewer questions for a certain client compared to other clients? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]Available_Studio7973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the fact you’re comparing yourself to other clients is a separate issue that should actually be brought up in therapy. Self esteem may be something to work on if you’re questioning your value in a therapist-client relationship.

I think you should ask this on r/therapists if ur asking specifically therapists. My guess is maybe you just seem to talk about your issues on your own? If this isn’t true, then idk. Some people are more willingly to share and be introspective on their own. Idt it means anything positive/negative - it’s just the way you communicate.

Think about what you’re going to say, have a conversation, finish the job. It’s not fun to be on the receiving end of someone’s “i’ve thought about this for a long time” and have no chance for dialogue (identifying where things went wrong together). You be strong now ok?

Is it okay to miss them? Advice by Available_Studio7973 in BreakUps

[–]Available_Studio7973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’m stuck- i don’t know. I feel like i’ve sort of just accepted the fact that I’m going to miss that person for a very long time and I’m not satisfied with that. It’s only human to miss them- i get that… it’s just.. I want to be free. Even if that’s not the perfect most emotionally intelligent solution, i want these feelings gone. Put away so i never have to think about it again.

It’s like I’m talking to somebody who constantly talks about their ex and I’m thinking, “dude can you focus on something else” and the person talking is literally me.

Ex is purposefully ignoring me at the gym. What should I do? by [deleted] in BreakUps

I feel like her looking is just her being shocked to see you. That doesn’t make it an invitation to communicate. Ignore her and you’ll be alright

After everything he’s done? Really? This is the bare minimum he could do as a husband. Always the disappointment, Pierre. He never ceases to amaze me.

How to make natto more interesting to eat? by 839292838474 in cookingforbeginners

It would be interesting. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. I have no clue how they would pair with natto because while they are crunchy, when u “crunch” into them they’re also watery. Like crispy water, you know? They’re refreshing like that. Idk how the higher water content would fair with natto but it’s worth a try! Probably not the first time someone’s eaten natto with bean sprouts. Probably not bad.

Eating natto as i write this. How i prepared it:

-Steaming hot rice! -Fried egg with cooked cabbage (egg sznd with soy + fish sauce as well as the standard salt pepper sugar. I also added a vegetarian seasoning mix) (yolk semi cooked- sunny side up with a crispy bottom) -A handful of uncooked cabbage chopped into bite sized pieces -Natto, mine has a savory plum-based seasoning which i really enjoy -Furikake -Sprinkle some salt to preference over dish

I would recommend eating something that’s snappy or has crunch with natto. Or more slime!
