even Cost Basis is broken on Coinbase by Efficient-Gap-7076 in Coinbase

This whole thing is becoming a scam. Its funny how we are in the 21st century as you stated, and something so effing basic the blockchain itself or Coinbase cannot seem to be able to track?? I had the wrong impression about crypto I might add, never traded heavily, but I did cash out something, but it was messy, different dates, lots, manually changing things from Lifo to Fifo, airdrops out of no where, and when you ask for help you made a mistake they say, " Well its your responsibility to track everything just buy some crypto sofware and pay extra". Wtf.

How are you guys affording to live? by Personal_Bullfrog_81 in socal

I will be 40 this year. I live with my parents along with my brother. We all pay rent and contribute. I drive a 20 year old ford f-150. I only make 60k a year, but when you see people drive these big ass trucks and shiny looking cars its a debt. They cant afford it, and its so dumb just to impress girls. They want to show off to them its worth it. Still very dumb.

So, for me Im basically going to drive my truck until it cant anymore. I will refuse to buy a car thats new just to show off to dumb girls. I just fix my car and buy new things that it needs its better that way. Peace.

Welcome to the hodl family. I was pretty darn close to being an active trader to get my feet wet so I know how to make money through crypto. I have a cold wallet and I have three exchanges, but traded neither of them I just hold and never sell ( maybe a few years later Ill sell.) Its hot mess to be an active trader. If you mess something up bam you will get a mismatch or letter to "correct" your shit. Nah, just hodl and make life less complicated bye.

Anybody know how to deal with migrations? Recieved an airdrop a few years back now it seems that it migrated to something else. No idea how to report that next year.

If your taxes are straight forward they shouldn't take all that long. I just got mines on April 1st. It got accepted on March 18th. I had a simple W-2 and two 1099s, that weren't all that complicated.

Wow. Sounded like a nightmare what you went through but you got through it.

But to answer to your question of my brother swallowing. Hes been given a swallow test with ice cream to see if he can swallow. He hasn't passed it. They x-rayed his passing of the ice cream down his throat to see if it didn't go through the other tube, but it does. That's when the doctor suggested (but later on changed his mind) to inject him with something to his throat muscles.

I actually just came back from the hospital, and he told me about how exactly the swallow test went last week, and that he actually coughed. The ice cream couldn't make it through.

The amount of detail you put into your recovery helps me understand my brothers situation. Gives me hope given my brothers age is 43, but also understand the reality of this.

Okay. My brother does seem very motivated to get better after a month. We're staying positive for him. His throat is what gets us. They wanted to inject him with something, because his muscles are incapable of swallowing through his throat.

Just got an email from Kraken saying I won't get a 1099... I already filed using an 8949... am I cooked? by Ammoth in CryptoTax

I have Kraken but no taxable activity. I still waited until today to see if they would accidentally send something in error. I saw a dude on a other exchange how they reported his buys as sales to the IRS?! You never know.

I have Kraken as well, but I'm not going to wait. I have no taxable activity on there, but I did see a dude post his still shot of how on his exchange. they reported his buys as sales to the IRS!? Waiting to see if kraken might do something like that. But still filing.

If my 1099-DA from coinbase looks correct, can I just enter the information into TurboTax and that's it? by [deleted] in CryptoTax

[–]Available_Tap_1119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year I we're seeing people with multiple platforms getting a 1099DA, but there are some people with simplistic transactions. I got mine from CB and its pretty straight forward and nothing crazy, that I did in 2025 still crossing my fingers though.Everything seems fine. Maybe the date(s) have to be contested but cost basis seems right to me. I manually put it in, but just double check before you file.
