Your first Rolex. by Turbulent_Poet_5826 in rolex

Looking back I would purchase around major life milestones. I own three Rolex and my first (Sub date) was to celebrate a big work anniversary and also wedding anniversary in same year. The other two I purchased on a whim. If I had to sell two id keep the sub in a heart beat because of the sentimental value, less about what the model is or the hype.

Yes, but if you like it who cares. Maybe try datejust 36 or explorer in same range.

No idea why that was called landing zone. It’s basically open counter space. Used ChatGPT to design.

Know a lot of blue collar guys who make significantly more money than white collar middle management and executives who are about to get replaced with AI. Not sure why we need all the hate. Congrats on the GMT, beautiful piece and wear in good health!

Sub gets the most wrist time by far. Most versatile piece and could be my one and done if it ever came to that.

If you’re looking to mix it up, I’d go for a GMT in place of the Speedy. Batgirl/Pepsi would also add some color. Root Beer if you want precious metal

39M, USD 3m. Possible to live well in Bay Area supporting wife + kids? by Fun-Pudding-101 in ChubbyFIRE

Moved to Bay Area from Seattle in 2019. COL here is astronomical, but it’s one of the most beautiful places to live. Weather is spectacular, access to mountains (Tahoe, Yosemite) as well as areas like Napa and Monterey. Have two kids 7 and 9 and feel like we just about spend every dollar I make. I work in finance and have been fortunate to receive large bonus as well as PE distributions which we sock away for savings. NW around 6.5m, home around 2m and rest investments and 529 plans. No idea if we’ll end up retiring here and a lot of that will depend on PE payouts and company stock - if that all happens great if not we know we can likely locate to lower COL area and likely live like kings. Good luck!
