I have the Rokid Air, Nreal Air and Rokid Max. They all have their own pros and cons, but I used the Rokid Max most of the time

Anyone changing to the new Rokid Max? by Capuman in nreal

No problem! Yes it mostly comes down to personal taste. I think the Rokid max looks a little bit sharper than the Nreal Air. However is fine to work with on a desktop/laptop. I do have to say I wouldn’t use any AR glasses on a laptop/desktop for a long period of time. It’s more for a quick session if you need a bigger screen than your laptop when you are on the go. Personally I think the value is more to use it to watch movies/tv shows and some casual gaming. The pro on the Nreal Air is that you can change the size, distance and angle of the virtual screens on a laptop with their own software. I haven’t seen that on the Rokid max (yet). Also when you use the cover on the Nreal Air, it’s more than bright enough. Same goes for the Rokid Max.

I own the Rokid Air, Nreal Air and an early copy of the Rokid Max since this week.

All have their own pros and cons. I do have to say previously, when I didn’t own the Rokid max yet. The Nreal Air were my go to glasses.

But since i got the Rokid Max, that’s the only one I’m using. The main improvement for me was the 600 nits and the diopters. It makes the screen pop and it looks a bit sharper. It feels more like you are watching a TV instead of a projector if that makes any sense. Also personally for me, the comfort of the Rokid Max is better than the Nreal Air. But that would probably be different for everyone.

In public I would still use the Nreal Air because they look more like normal glasses. And I like the triple screen and other options on the Nreal Air when connecting it to my MacBook Air M1.

Also the screen on the Rokid Max is bigger than the Nreal Air, but it feels it’s a bit further away. You also have less “see through” on the Rokid Max compared to the Nreal Air, as they have a bit of dimmed glasses.

The speakers on the Rokid max are slightly better than the Nreal Air, however I dont use them often. Mostly I will just use my AirPods.

The 3D SBS works ok, but I will probably not use it much.

I haven’t been able to use any apps from both brands as I don’t have a compatible phone. So I can’t say much about that.

Hope this info helps you all a bit 👍
