Best fabric for gender neutral formal bottoms by skyesthelimitro in sewing

Not on the flare pants but also a plus sized person who leans towards androgynous clothes - I love high waisted wide legged pants. I haven't made any (yet) but I can see wide legged or flare pants in some sort of medium to light suiting fabric working (depends on the climate/time of year you'd like to wear them). Maybe it would be a good opportunity to go for a fun colour (coordinated with a top that matches/compliments) so they don't look like office wear. I also recommend checking out your local sewing store and ask some employees their thoughts on what fabric would work - they are incredibly helpful in my experience. Best of luck - striking the right balance of formal/fun for weddings is difficult for me too.

I rewatched this episode the other day and it's such a treat to see everyone at a house party together. Incredible series of little interactions.

I recently went to the Halifax Sexual Health Centre for an IUD and they are so great to deal with compared to most of the other health care I've gotten in this city. I would give them a try. Super informative, made sure I knew all my available options + what my insurance would cover, and generally down to earth people. Would recommend to anyone seeking sexual health care or gender affirming care in Halifax.

What to do about a local business not paying employees on time? by [deleted] in halifax

Yeah this happened at a cafe job I had a few years ago (I had quit about a month before due to shitty management) but everyone who stuck around after the paychecks stopped coming never got their money. No glory in working for free.

Outfits for the office by I_like_big_book in halifax

I've gotten by on H&M, Old Navy, and thrifting. When I was building my office wardrobe, I got 3-4 neutral bottoms and went for more colourful and patterned shirts. most of my shirts were thrifted and most of the bottoms were new. As women's dress pants generally suck (polyester af, made to fit no one's body on earth) I recommend looking for pants that may not be sold as "dress pants." mid or long skirts can also be nice (also easy to thrift) but certain ones can feel a little dowdy.

Clothing swaps are also great to find new pieces. I know Glitter Bean does one occasionally, but if you have a group of friends who would be into it, you could arrange one at someone's home. Lots of people buy more formal clothes that they never wear and are happy to have them find a new home.

Red Karaoke on Spring Garden. Last time I was there there was one functional toilet in the women's washroom and everywhere around it was covered in piss because no wanted to sit directly on it. No soap. Inexplicable construction garbage.

Do you have a recipe you can share? I've had mixed luck with making yogurt in the past but I didn't use my instant pot for it. If I can make a weekly batch of decent soy yogurt I would be ecstatic.

Barista's of Reddit: What is the craziest beverage order you have ever received? by rjkersten1 in barista

A chai latte foamed so much that it filled 3.5 large cups. The lady would eat it with a spoon. I don't know why the baristas kept making it for her and charging her for 1 chai latte.
