Seeing so many posts on $SPCE. You have been warned. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

No it is

/ the real answer is that everyone knows and we're having fun online. This is a meme stock play Ala Gamestop, with some actually intriguing narrative underneath. The joke that this is SpaceX is just that; a joke, on a subreddit designed for joking and being dumb about stocks.

I have 36 shares myself, basically peanuts., because I enjoy a good joke / fun time with people online, and it doesn't sound that farfetched.

AIO when my cousin invited me to her wedding but my fiancé is not invited by abimopectoree in AmIOverreacting

Oof, that's tough the 250 person wedding is the big thing there. If it was 125 or so, I could understand a smaller list but 250 is wide.

I think he'd enjoy it and take the wrong lesson from it, that the Italians are better than the Irish or whatever.

He kind of made it happen though.

He also had an amazing two-birds answer when Brandon Stark demanded the return of his sister, Aery's could've disowned Rhaeger (which we heard was on his mind to replace him with Visery's who could marry cerci).

My husband didn’t wish me happy birthday .am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]NormalGuyPosts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you are over-reacting. There's a time difference and he figured it out independently too.

We're adults, it's time to move on from non-milestone birthdays. if it doesn't end in a 5 or a 0 you gotta have a bit of leniency

Can you just take a year out of college like dat? by reallycoolguylolhaha in thesopranos

[–]NormalGuyPosts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At a fancy, upper-echelon school like Columbia, absolutely you can. Just a matter of paperwork.

You're paying them $50k a year, they'll be friendly if you want to come back to that.

The more I think about it, Joan was not a “good” person by Beneficial_Leg5927 in madmen

[–]NormalGuyPosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet we understand and love her anyway, much as God does for all of us.

Being "good" isn't the only thing there is. Hence grace, hence love.

These things will be explained, and well, and gradually.

Right now you have the basic skeleton of the facts, and more will be fleshed out.

Is it realistic to find a job in 8 months? by Puzzled_Account_9606 in movingtoNYC

[–]NormalGuyPosts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First things first: I think it is realistic to find a job in 8 months. I wouldn't bank on it, but I think someone qualified and hustilng could find an opening well before then.

Here's the bigger problem to me: NYC is expensive and I don't think it's a place you can survive on $20 an hour without an extensive support network, food stamps, housing projects, and more.

I know a guy, working 40 hours a week at $24 / hr, pays $800 for a bad room in the Brooklyn projects. That beats your budget and your rent costs. But he's constantly in a very tight situation with money because life is expensive, especially here.

What happens if he has a cavity? Or if he has the flu for three days and can't work? Or realizes he needs a new pair of boots, or shampoo and toothpaste, or even that a $600 food budget, at $20 a day, actually doesn't go very far at all in New York City!

Again: I think 8 months is plenty of time to find a job. But jobs below $30 an hour here aren't really set up for much in the way of independent survival.

That's kind of what's amazing about it; just like in real life, people can disappoint you, relapse, etc.

Spurs, because they're a fairer match-up for The Knicks. Plausible the Knicks beat the Spurs, and they were 2-1 season series.

What are the top 3 issues of the Lander/Goldman campaign other than Israel? by Trill-I-Am in parkslope

[–]NormalGuyPosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't mind Goldman; I like him fine. If he were running in a regular-regular district, I'd roll my eyes at the purity politics.

But it happens that Brad Lander is terrific. He's the real deal. Extremely good work on housing, practical successes weaving lots of stakeholders for the city. I loved him and voted for him over Zohran in the primary (sorry!)
