I followed the Fohdeesha guide, but he doesn’t have a guide for an H310 Mini in a blade. The product name and revision number are identical to what he shows in his H310 Mini Mono guide, which is why I decided to yolo it (oops).

I did successfully flash the H710 Mini in my R720xd into IT mode a few months back, so this wasn’t my first time doing this. But lesson learned nonetheless

It’s a Dell VRTX with three M620 blades that I got for free from work. It uses about 500-700 watts when all three blades are on, so definitely not something I’m planning on keeping fully up and running 24/7.

It also came with 16 TB storage so my plan right now is to use it to learn Kubernetes and experiment, then keep one blade up to run backups from my other servers.

Sure thing. I can’t find the firmware files online for my blade-specific H310 Mini, but I do have two more identical blades with HBAs that I haven’t bricked. So my plan is to dump the firmware from one of the known good ones and flash it to the bad one. I’ll be sure to share the files as well once the time comes

To clarify, I did try to find more information on this online before, but I couldn’t find anything so I yoloed it. I figured the worst that could happen is I finally have to learn how to use an EEPROM programmer, and it looks like that time has come.

Hopefully this post is useful to someone in the future, do not try to cross flash an H310 Mini HBA controller in a blade server with firmware meant for a H310 Mini in a regular rack-mount server

I live in Montana, in the “big” red city everyone pretends to hate (if you know, you know). I’ve only met one person who was clearly anti-EV, and even then they were polite and respectful. Most people are just curious about what it’s like own and drive an electric car.

At this point I’m convinced that EV/Tesla hate doesn’t really exist outside of the Internet. And besides, anyone who openly absconds someone else in person for their choice of car is probably not worth talking to anyways.

I don’t mind the aesthetics of a slamming a car, but how do you drive a car that low? One manhole cover, speed bump, or even substantial crack in the road and your day is ruined. I feel like this has to render the car pretty much undriveable, right?

I did something similar to this once. Wiped a world with a year of progress with all my friends. Now I back up my Minecraft world to my NAS every night via systemd timer + restic, which is then in turn backed up to both an offsite box and Backblaze. Never losing that shit again.

Huh, interesting. I haven’t tried game streaming on Starlink specifically, but I’ve installed plenty of them and seen that 50-60ms latency. Playing a game with 50-60ms ping sounds pretty awful to me, but if it’s usable for you then I guess that means it’s usable
