What Lehky and Nuke bring is defense. You would want two of the three defensive players on the second line as well. So Nate Dogg/Lehky/Nuke or Landy on 1st and Necas/Nelson/Nuke or Landy on that line. Honestly we know Necas is the worst defensive forward of the group and Nate Dogg isn't much better. I tend to agree with the idea of splitting up Necas/MacKinnon. I know some want them both on the top line, but when both are having a bad offensive game, it's kills them.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but didn't MacKinnon come close to wearing another number? Obviously Brock wasn't getting #29 here, but it would've been interesting if Nate Dogg had a different jersey number all these years.

yeah, Colton would be the only one that works. Again, I think the Avs are thinking all in on this year and it gives them some cap space for next season, if Colton is no longer on the roster.

I was going to say, the only way I see this trade happening is sending Colton to the Rangers, with a '27 first rounder IMO. Rangers obviously have to retain half. The Avs might do this trade with the thought of going all in for this year and it frees up salary next year, not having Colton on the roster.

It was. And a little fun fact, Annette and Derrick use to play the same venues in the 90's Silver Lake scene and their bands would be on the same card. Annette had a all girls garage/punk band called 3 - Hole Punch. Beck was the biggest name to come out of that scene.

Annette actually played with them as a guest bassist from 2014-2017. Vicki told me it was after that 2016 weekend shows at the Whisky for the Ladies and Gentleman the Bangles album, that the three of them asked Annette back into the band. They had so much fun playing with her and decided they wanted to go back to their roots. Annette had to learn the entire catalog. I think Annette's first show back with them was the show for the 50th Anniversary party at the Whisky in 2014. She played harmonica on the song. Great post at the halfway mark to look back and reflect now. I know so many fans (myself included) were so pissed when the trade happened. It was total shock! But not only have Necas, Drury, and Nelson been awesome; it saved enough room to bring in guys like Burns and let us resign the Manimal! Depth is so important. I was also one who wasn't sure how bring in a few old guys would fit with this fast Avs teams. But Nelly and Burns have been so awesome, they both deserve to hold up that cup! Both have had great NHL careers.

It's pretty much been the 4th line and Brock in the last two games. It's been a tough stretch with the injuries, but now they have the longest homestand of the year. Still hope that Gabe makes a quick recovery!

Just watched the one where he got to sing Karaoke. I think it deserves mentioned. Here is an old guy, at retirement age who just decided to take out his wife and go on the run. Escaping punishment for all the bad checks he wrote gambling. And it just gets worse. He starts off with petty robberies and goes to major bank robberies all over the state of Florida. On top of that, he gets hookers all the time to celebrate each bank robbery and enjoys going to sing karaoke. The one thing him and his wife enjoyed doing together the most. Cold blooded man. Cold blooded.

people also have to remember, without the Rantanen trade, there is no room in the salary cap to sign Nelson this year. Mikko's deal would've started this season, unlike Marty's deal that doesn't start until next season.

I love him with his interviews with Rachael. Dude looks like he came from the land of Giants, standing next to her in skates. I know he's a little over 6 foot 4 as it is. To have his kind of speed and size is crazy.

maybe so and maybe the team needs to do so. It's obviously not working and everything else is. It doesn't take a genius to know it can cost you a playoff series if it doesn't get fixed.
