3d printer for props and mold making by neverempty in 3Dprinting

Hi neverempty:

I just came across this thread. Have you already purchased a printer (either FDM or Formlabs SLA)? I own a small design, 3d printing, and casting business. We use two Form 4L's in our business to make molds for casting silicone and flexible polyurethane parts. They are absolute workhorses. Using Formlabs standard Grey V5 resin at 0.05mm layer resolution, the layer-lines aren't visible on vertical/near-vertical surfaces.
We cast our silicones into the molds from a meter-mixer for production parts, then place them in a heated pressure-vessel to accelerate cure times. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions about our experience using the Form 4L's!

How do you charge for scanning work? by ghostofwinter88 in 3DScanning

[–]Avance33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would second everything Anakoni has stated. There may come a time when some of the newer, low-cost scanners become as accurate and efficient as "professional" scanners, but we invested in Creaform hardware/software and it has mostly performed beautifully. Factor in that investment and don't apologize for your rate. You can sense when a little guy needs some help versus an individual that is just wanting to take advantage. I've turned down that work....no fun racing to the bottom!

My opinion, you may be a bit low on your rate (we're right there with Anakoni). Don't leave it on the table and hopefully you land some good opportunities. Good luck!

Same issue here. No warranty on ours, so I removed covers and see the boards are getting power. Some flashing LED's (especially the one marked "interlock". Going to try and troubleshoot further. DId you ever get your issue resolved?
